Yeah, I do agree the "dream opening" idea is the only one with merit
within the film's narrative.
A Egg is immobile, a Facehugger is mobile and the Spaceship is enormous.
Fantastic fanfiction is but fanfiction.

If you don't care about
the real world reason;
Then within the film at face value, with it's residence as inexplicable as it is. I say;
"I had a terrible dream in cryosleep."
