I'd say put 3 quarters of your nodes into your weapons and one quarter into your health.

Mind you, I gave up on Hard mode.

For impossible mode, what would be a wiser idea: making your health larger or making your weapons stronger?

Weapons definitely need to be powered up, but stick to one gun: the plasma cutter, it's all you will need. I should know, I beat the game on Impossible mode that way.

Has anyone else been able to keep their military suit when they start impossible like I did?

Yeah - I never used anything other than the plasma cutter.

The game is a blast and gets very hairy at some parts.

On a new game? Nope, I had to start over from square one.

Impossible mode was the only time I actually bought a fresh suit all the way up to Level 5. Playing on Hard and Normal, I only went up to Level 4.

Just one, but I started the Imp game right after completion without saving between.

I'm in the middle of my second playthrough on Hard so I can use the lvl.6 suit on Impossible mode

Well this ain't good. I'm permanentley stuck at the first time that big tenticle thing grabs you because I've only 5 shots left and it's not enough to kill it. I just saved before it too...
