Family and I finally finished watching the Back to the Future trilogy. Whilst the second isn't of the same quality as the 1st and 3rd film it's still a great series. The cast is stellar throughout.

I noticed probably for the first time (haven't seen them properly in ages) just how much of Silvestri's score is so similar to his Predator work.

2nd is definitely my least favourite of the trilogy and the one I've watched the least. Dark future twist is cool and all but it's a bit convuluted and too much of a rehash of the first movie for my liking

I would pick 3rd as my favourite. Wild West setting and everything that comes with it just does it for me

Clear and Present Danger

Very, very good. Not quite on the level of Red October, but holds its own very well.

Both are favorites of mine.

How dare you sir!

I like Patriot Games quite a bit as well. I haven't seen Sum of All Fears since theaters when I was 9, though...

3 is a lot of fun. The focus almost shifts from Marty to Doc.

Quantum might've been an OK film if it paused for breath once in a while. The rare occasions it actually slows down for a moment are easily the best bits in the movie, but they're few and far between and thirty seconds later you're thrown back into another generic, incomprehensibly-edited action scene.

It's not awful, but it annoys me because it feels like it could've been so much better with not much effort.
It might sound weird, but Quantum legitimately works best if you watch it immediately after Casino and see it as a really, really extended fourth act. Still flawed, but the breathless pace actually works in its favour.

It's the only way I watch it now. Casino Royale ends, immediately chuck in Quantum.

And having just seen it tonight, Spectre's the extended mixed prologue to No Time To Die, just like Quantum Of Solace's the extended mixed epilogue to Casino Royale.

Skyfall being that bridge between the start of James Bond and veteran James Bond.

My rating: ★★★★

The Spy Who Loved Me

Bond vs James Cameron. I used to prefer Live and Let Die, but nah, this is definitely Moore's best outing.

The Living Daylights

Close to being the most underrated Bond film.

Possibly, 'cause I've never heard that title

I always think of a-ha's title track for that one. Only watched it recently.

After Sean and Roger, I was not really a fan of Timothy Dalton's or Pierce Brosnan's portrayal of Bond (I'm not certain if most rank Lazenby).... so Daniel Craig was really a big breath of fresh air for me.

No Time to Die

For once a Bond gets to end his run on a really, really good movie (and not get cut short like poor Timothy Dalton). Just about everything worked perfectly here, minus some uncertainty over what exactly Safin's plan was (maybe dialogue was cut because of COVID?). And it did a good job of expanding on what Spectre did and fixing or downplaying the parts that really didn't work.

Personal Craig Ranking:

Casino Royale
Skyfall
No Time to Die
Quantum of Solace
Spectre
