Might be an unpopular opinion, but honestly I think The Godfather Pt II is boring as hell. Only the flashbacks with De Niro interest me, and the ending.

This.

I wouldn't go as far as saying boring as hell, but I definitely find it a bit of a slog compared to the first one, and you're right in saying it's mostly the 1950s stuff that's to blame.

The real controversy is I remember liking Part III a lot more :P Looking forward to seeing that again to confirm.

Grave of the Fireflies (1988)
One of the most depressive and saddest animated movies I have ever seen. A true emotional journey which will leave many in tears at the end. It's about two children who lose their mother and home in an air raid in WW2 Japan and have to survive on their own. The fact that's it's based on true events (the writer wrote the story because he felt responsible for the death of his sister in WW2) makes this an even sadder story. The animation is rough but detailed and the soundtrack tugs at the heartstrings. One of the best (anti-)war movies ever made. 10/10

From Up On Poppy Hill (2011)
Goro Miyazaki's second movie for Ghibli is a somewhat predictable coming-of-age teen romance about two students who want to save their clubhouse from demolition and in the process fall in love with each other. Their friendship takes a hit when they discover that they might be siblings. This time Goro got help from his dad, who wrote the screenplay. It's a very enjoyable watch, with gorgeous animation and a jazzy, up-tempo soundtrack. Of course you know that it will end on a happy note, but the movie will still keep you glued to your seat. 8/10

The Castle of Cagliostro (1979)
The Castle Of Cagliostro is the grand debut of Ghibli maestro Hayao Miyazaki. So far I have only seen the live-action movie by Ryuhei Kitamura, which I've enjoyed very much. Lupin III is a so-called gentleman thief who discovers that the money he stole from a casino is counterfeit. He tracks it down towards the castle of Cagliostro, where a young woman is held hostage against her will and who is forced to marry the evil count. This movie made me think of James Bond, but with a lot more comedy. Lupin himself often acts like a kid, but is irresistibly charming at the same time. The animation is pretty rough, but the backgrounds are very detailed and the soundtrack is fantastic. A highly entertaining watch. 8/10

I like II a lot, but the plot gets crazy convoluted (the Senate hearings come out of nowhere, for example). III, on the other hand, is a lot better than it gets credited for, but still has quite a few problems. I kinda sorta would have liked to see the Andy Garcia-focused Godfather IV that Paramount had planned for a while there.

Spider-Man Far From Home: I really enjoyed this one, not going to say much as to not spoil anything for anyone who wants to see it but it's worth a watch.

Alien Resurrection (Extended Version): I'd actually never seen this version of the film before until yesterday, have to say I like this one more than the original. Never liked the opening credits scene in the original film for starters. It doesn't really add too many scenes though from how it looks. There's a bit more character interactions here and there but still not enough for me to care about the characters that end up getting killed off.

Alien 3 Assembly Cut: Have to say I can't decide between which version of Alien 3 I like more, Honestly like both equally as I never really disliked Alien 3 from the get go. I will say for sure I liked the original ending a bit more for some reason. Just seeing Ripley holding down the queen burster was something that I actually liked for some reason.

The Mummy (1999): I remember really enjoying this one when I was younger and my opinions haven't changed, it's just I enjoy it more now since I finally understand the story of the film better (When I was younger I wasn't good at following the story in any movie). I like Fraser as an actor and he does pretty well for his character Rick O'Connell just that in other films I can't tell his characters apart sometimes (Like Jeff Goldblum when he's not playing Ian Malcolm)
