Psh, who cares about silly things like intelligent writing, good acting, or themes that touch on topical societal issues! Star Wars is obviously better, because it has laser swords and 'sploshuns!

... :-[

EDIT: oh, yeah, and magical green puppets who can throw things around with their hands!

Good God, I feel the IQ dripping out of my ears just saying that...

Ain't no elitism in here. Nope, no siree.

Almost all stories aim to communicate something. Star Wars isn't exempt from that at all.

Wow, really? You're going to walk in here and insult the intelligence of fans who are having a conversation with others over two action science fiction franchises?

Here's the rundown: neither franchise is that intelligent. They are simple, mindless entertainment. Star Wars is just better at the entertainment part (not to say Star Trek is bad at it at all).

Star Wars refers to the works of Joseph Campbell, so it isn't dumb.

The Prequels are total trash (insert whatever expletive), however.

Neither, they're both merchandise whores, Example:

Where's the alien egg sleeping bag?

I thought watching Star Trek made you smarter?

As much as I love Star Trek, I've gotta pick Star Wars.

If my youngest son was named Kirk instead of Luke it woulda gone the other way though ;)

The guts is a great touch.

Possibly nightmare inducing, but still...
