Am I the only one NOT excited for Reach? (I was at first though)
I've been excited for this game more than Halo 2/3 and ODST combined, reason why? No Flood, No convenant civil war, Elites, no saving the world bollocks or fighting on some forunner world etc, fighting with a group of spartans, huge outdoor enviroments that put anything in the previous games to shame.

I'm really tempted to create a thread so us lot can get together for firefigth or firefight VS when the game comes out, having more people to shoot with/at is never a bad thing. ;)

The Covenant civil war was a stroke of genious. Made the Covenant more fleshed out and showed how the prophets' mad prosuits were destroying everything they were trying to achieve, and they only had their delusions to blame for it.

I agree with that, though I frakin love elites. Keith David and Robert Davi? Can't go wrong there. Easily my two favorite characters in the series. There, I said it.

I loved fighting them in CE (i don't know but it felt like they were weaker in Halo 2), so much better than the Brutes, Elites were just amble, agile and very cunning and i loved fighting them but the brutes were mindless dumb apes and although they were overhauled in 3 extensively they weren't any fun to engage. After playing the Beta on invasion mode i love the movement and the animation for the elites, they look fantastic.

And yes on the Arbitter and Keith david, excellent choice.

One thing i don't think i can get use to straight off the bat for Reach is (although not a bad thing) that the Elites,Grunts and Brutes don't speak english now.

What you say is true. Elites are much more experienced in fighting, ducking behind cover and using well cordinated attack patterms. Brutes will just run into a room swinging, but smacking the dumd bastards in the face with a brute shot blade and seeing them drop mid spazz is pretty hilarious.

I just finished reading Halo: Contact Harvest and I loved it!

There were moments that were very tense, and even though you know what happens to certain characters (and species), those moments still kept me guessing.

Spoiler
The parley in the botanical gardens, for example, I knew that the Covenant vs Human war would ignite, but I'm reading and thinking that the Brutes would actually be peaceful.

Lighter Than Some's demise at the hands of the Drones suprised me, and Dadap's discovery of his friend's remains actually had me feeling sorry for some of the Covenant ranks.

Overall it was an amazing book and I love how it tied characters from the Halo universe together.

Onto The Cole Protocol next!

Halo: Contact Evolved

Whut.

But seriously, I'm glad you liked it. Though it is kind of hard not to like the Halo books; they're really well written and engaging.

Yeah, sorry to be such a nitpick, it's just that what you originally wrote sounded like a cheap porn parody of Halo.

Even though the DMR is the BR in disguise and is gonna jump out of its hiding place eventually, it's still gonna be a fantastic game!   ;D
