Blame that on the studio, who gave NECA the intended designs for it and the proto-Xenomorph practical props, and then changed them to CGI at the last minute without informing NECA.

They were always intended to be replaced with CGI according to OddStudios.
The Xenomorph's are similar, but the Neomorphs are worlds away from each other.

The NECA Neomorph looks like it's the film version
but opaque, old and wrinkly, more back spines and a completely different pharyngeal jaw and proportions.

Regardless, NECA can only sculpt based on the material given them. They can't guess at what the cgi version is going to look like.

Exactly. Had they been given the CGI model, I'm confident the figures would have been screen-accurate.

It made NECA look especially bad when they specifically used the words "screen accurate" on the packaging for the figures.

With some hot glue, patience, and acrylic paints I am confident I could make this with pre existing neca accessories.

The Aliens in AVP were just the Resurrection suits repainted and reused, so...

It's screen accurate. Though the forearms, hands and lower legs are newly sculpted as to be accurate. And because of the extra leg joint, if you stand him up, he might be the tallest alien to date I believe.

Love the head articulation! Though it's funny that we get this needed improvement on the Rez figure first.
