the size of the crater compared to the drop ship, and the fact it's deep and actually has debris in it, it's not hadley's hope, looks more like a crashed ship.

A 30-megaton blast at ground level would make a helluva crater, though.

We have to remember the blast was not at ground level and we cannot compare the crater by scaling it to the drop ship.

Except it was a nuclear reactor. That would be at, or near, ground level. Nukes at ground level make large craters; the reason that there wasn't one after Hiroshima was it was detonated in the air.

and vaporise the whole colony, or at least blast all the debris away. so why's there debris?

and about the dropship, on first glance it looked like it was close to ground level. on closer inspection you are right it looks high altitude. and you can't compare size.

According to Eric Red early script of ALIEN cube (If I remember right), the atmospheric processor isn't anymore and some part of the main complex of HH has been destroyed but there's still a part of it which is "clean".
But most of the complex had casualties.

GBX devs mentioned they were recreating HH for the game, what ever it looks like now.
