3D Mars

Hey guys, Since last week i make VFX for money, including school projects or just fan films for anyone in my environment.


Still a work in progress. No satellite yet.
Yesterday i got a request for a space scene including a satellite circling arround mars.
I will show him the scene in a few days for a test but i wanted to know what you think about the mars and the sun ?



I want to have some general feedback before i have to show it to him, so what do you guys think about it? I still have to work a little bit on the Bump map.


Good and bad welcome, and of course suggestions for the lighting etc etc

Yeah, I agree that the Bump Map needs more work, but you said that already.
In my opinion, it looks great, I am not a big fan of working in 3D graphics... Mainly since I am terrible at it, but I can't really see anything I would suggest to work on.
Maybe your final version could get me to decide. But I am not sure.

Well, it took about an hour with finetuning. The glow arround the planet and the lens flare etc.
The you have to play arround with the bump mapping and the surface a bit.

Then scene is finished since 2 weeks or so.

And i got a good payment for it aswell 
Good way to valorize your wallet a bit.


Today i start to texturing the Alien warrior with the bump maps and putting in the skelleton and muscles so you can move it into the scene and so on.

Should be fun.

The alien is not from me, its just that i play arround with the texture to make this thing look real and not something you would see in a supernintendo game.

Yeah maybe, but with a fine insert into a scene, match the grain and look of the shot and do an overall color correction i think this thing will look very good in a fanfilm.
