It should be quite obvious that 'Alien' with capital 'A' is a term used to indicate the antagonist species in the Alien films.

A lot of people here are on the Alien 3 bandwagon. I too love it far more than most, though i do rank it behind the first two. Together they make for a great trilogy. Shame about Resurrection. And i'm not hating on AR; only that it feels less & less like a sequel and more & more like an offshoot.

I agree about the perfect trilogy statement. Alien 3 was a good way to end the story. I'd like to give this film a more in depth review sometime. It is not a bad movie by any means, I personally quite like it. The problem is when you come right down to it, IT'S JUST NOT AS GOOD AS THE FIRST TWO. I typed that in caps because I think that is really the bottom line when it comes to that film. It's pretty much the last good Alien film. However it just doesn't have the same appeal as the first two movies.
