As far as I was aware, in a video interview Shane Black acknowledged the fact that P1 and P2 had happened and were being treated as having occurred before his movie with his set before the happenings of Predators and he wasn't taking any stabs at the previous films at all.

At least he hasn't flat out ignored the other films like R. R did, acting like he owns the franchise.

Also, I spot a sweet-looking Predator symbol/icon!! If this suggests a classic mask design in the style of Jungle Hunter and Wolf, then I'm pleased!!
