Happy Halloween everyone!

2020 has been a very difficult and tragic year but we have really tried to go all out for Halloween as we always do. We have changed our whole decoration set up to address covid. Created larger spaces and we fabricated an 8 foot candy chute for social distancing. Unfortunately my 5 year old son won't be trick r treating but we will all be celebrating and dressed up, sending candy to kids from  our closed off front porch.  Wanted to make some good 2020 memories for the kids.

Here is a link to our set up this year ;D

Don't really celebrate it in this country, which I find a bit of a shame since it's got cooler vibes than most holidays. At least our comparative success against covid means the drunken teens that do celebrate it all got to cut loose/cop a feel/whatever it was we did at that age.

It was barely a thing here when I was a kid.  It's more of a thing now, and while painfully Yank, it's a bit of fun for the kids.  Not this year though.  There was only a handful of kids trick or treating, but we didn't participate.  Nor did many other houses nearby so I think they might've gone hungry.  On the fourth day out of  strict lockdowns it sounded like a recipe for disaster - and a bit irresponsible, to be judgy.

In another 20 years, you'll probably act like full-blown Seppos.

Yeah I tried to take precautions and I don't think I exposed my fam or any other kids.

However halloween was huge in my small town this year. Tons of kids, we ran out of $100 in candy. We were the only house taking precautions though, we stayed 8-10 feet away from all and used gloves when handling the candy. South of here in Detroit there really was no halloween this year though I guess.

My son had a blast sending the candy down the tube lol.

I've always loved Halloween and it's a big deal in America anyway. We watch horror flicks all month and really get into it.

Won't be that long.

Although your Glorious Leader probably set the timetable back a bit.

Just got back with the 6 year old and it was very, very dry. Only a few people out and everyone was being extremely safe. Side note, he got a shit ton of candy since not really any kids are out...more for me 😎

I imagine you'll even lose your accent and wind up sounding like Kevin Costner in your videos.

Those Halloween decorations were awesome  :o

Our city can't do the trick-or-treating well because it's too mountainous and not that safely walkable, so we have the trunk-or-treats instead. I've never been to one before, but from what I hear it pales in comparison to the real deal.

But as for us, we just did a really impressive corn maze and watched the Addams Family

Had a movie night in the garden with a few friends (not exceeding the rule of 6), a gazebo, and a projector. Was fun!

Do they all occupy space in your bookcase as physical media?

This year they did; I often do "gimmicks" each year (last year I played blackout with a horror movie themed bingo card for example), this year's gimmick was they all had to be movies I physically owned as well as discs I hadn't yet watched since purchasing them.

I'm planning next year's gimmick to be 31 horror movies I've never seen before, which is going to mean I'm dipping heavily into streaming media unless I blind-buy some horror movies.
