I'm fine with digitigrade legs, though they could be toned back a little.  Den Beauvais did a great job in drawing the aliens with basically normal legs but in digitigrade position.  If you look at Aliens: Book Two (Aliens: Nightmare Asylum for some) you will see how he basically keeps the basic legs but positions them like animals with great effect.  So basically, somewhere between Stompy and Kane's Son there is a sweet spot which IMO the alien legs should be at..  My 2 cents...

Because you can hear him running around the station.  It was supposed to be something that frightens you, but in effect it gives you warning.  The Alien in the Alien movie could barely be heard.  But Stompy on the other hand...
