As far as the AVP and Covenant continuity, I look at it as different worlds/storylines branching of a same source material, in this case, the Alien movie. They dont coexist, theyre separate continuity but you have one and the other like alternative universes. I do recognize that theres one canon, but that may change at some point. I mean, there was a time when the AVP story was canon

Suppose it depends whether you like to mentally file things as a "coherent" fictional universe, or whether you like to file things as Corporate Art with a dozen or so different takes on the root ideas.
