Aliens is definitely an alien movie. You have the queen, lots of warriors, eggs, facehuggers, hived atmosphere processor, and chestbursting. They took all that and threw in a group of unwitting marines. Then mixed in a lot of terror, insane tension, action, and a bit of horror.
It was always about the aliens for me anyway, the colonial marines were just the cherry on top.
-edit- I could easily see alien, marines, or ripley as legitimate anwsers though.
