Gearbox has just revealed during their panel at PAX Prime that the game Aliens: Infestation, which they created in collaboration with Wayforward Technologies, will be coming out for the Nintendo DS on October 11, 2011 in the US and on September 30, 2011 in Europe.
Stay tuned for our upcoming Q&A with Wayforward and Sega about the game!
AlienPrequelNews have released three new set images from Prometheus. The first shows a vehicle which you may have seen in the leaked Comic-Con trailer images a while ago. The second image shows the feet of an object we saw from the official production still. Apparently, this is a Lifter. Lastly, there’s a new shot of the alien tunnels.
Gamespot has just released a new trailer for Aliens Colonial Marines. This video gives the first real glimpse of the game so make sure to check it below. Alternatively, you can download the trailer in HD here.
In related news, Nuts magazine has recently published a new article and screenshot of the game. You can find the scans at our forums.
We have also confirmed with Sega and Gearbox that there will be ‘a lot more‘ cool stuff comingthis Friday on Gamespot.
Update: PAX Prime starts this Friday, August 26th, and as you know Colonial Marines will be there. When asked for comment on whether or not cameras will be allowed at the Sega booth, Sega told us: “There will be no need for cameras“. Stay tuned!
Sega has just released a new batch of screenshots from Aliens: Colonial Marines in celebration of the game’s presence at GamesCom (August 17th – 21th). You can see them all by clicking the image below:
We can also reveal that the game will be shown behind-closed-doors at Gamescom. According to Sega, they will be showing a bit more than at E3 to press. Please keep checking this thread on the forum for further updates.
I know this is extremely short notice but Empire magazine has been/is hosting a special cinema event, called Big Screen, over this weekend and tomorrow features an Alien focused panel:
“A panel of behind-the-scenes crew recall the making of a science-fiction masterpiece, as hosted by Ian Nathan, author of the forthcoming Alien Vault…”
Featuring on the panel are Dennis Lowe, who you will remember doing the fantastic Alien Maker and Alien Fan documentaries. Also there will be Ivor Powell, producer for Alien. Tickets will be available on the door and I believe around £12. So if you’re in or around London, come join me at the panel.
Sega has just announced that Aliens Colonial Marines will be making an appearance at PAX this year (August 26th – 28th). While the announcement states that the game will be playable at the show, we can exclusively confirm that this is sadly a typo. According to Gearbox, attendees will be able to check out the game at the Sega booth (#3625 ), but they won’t be able to go hands-on with it.
In addition to this, Gearbox Software will be hosting a panel at PAX Prime on Sunday, August 28th from 3:00pm to 4:00pm (Pegasus Theatre).
Finally, you can now VOTE for Colonial Marines as your most anticipated game of 2012 at the Golden Joystic Awards. Make sure to vote now!
Update: Sega’s announcement has been now corrected.
AlienPrequelNews have posted a few new pictures from the Prometheus set. They range from various props to more interesting giger-esque set pieces. Check the last four out at the bottom of the page. The first three show biomechanical structures like on the Derelict while the last picture shows a map of some kind which was found on the inside of an alien cave.
I’ve just been sent the newest poster for the upcoming Aliens Encounters: 25 Years of Aliens convention which includes new details:
Isn’t my name Aaron Percival? That’s right, I’m talking on a panel with Ian Nathan (Empire writer and author of Alien Vault) and Christian Fowler of Alien Prequel News. There is also going to be a dinner party with the guests and the guys over at Alien Legacy. Myself, Vulhala & resident Giger approved blogger Valaquen are going so make sure you buy a ticket and join us.
Thanks to an anonymous source, I’ve got two new pictures from the set of Prometheus for you all:
[Images removed at request of 20th Century Fox]
The smallest image is a close up of the jars/urns mentioned by the SDCC reports and briefly seen in the recently leaked footage images. Up close they look nothing like the Alien eggs. The large image is of a Gigeresque tunnel which connects to the urn chamber which contains the huge head. We have done colour correction on both these images to reduce the noise.
