And as usual I come bearing higher resolution versions which you can check out in the forum. Series 2 is in the stores now and Series 3 will be out in April.

Yikes, even more DVD artwork. This time it’s for the AvP Unrated 2-Pack set. This is a two-disc set including the unrated versions of both AvP movies. Amazon has this for $24.49 and it will be released April 15, 2008.

Similarly, there’s also a Blu-Ray version of this set with Amazon selling it for less than $50. Thanks to Wolfpred for the news.

The cover art for the UK Blu-Ray release of Predator has been released. As you can see, it’s reminiscent of the DVD Definitive Edition. The set is the same as the US release… no special features at all. The release date is May 19, 2008 – same date as AvP Requiem.

Also check out this Predator DVD / Blu-Ray Comparison page. The picture quality in the Blu-Ray release does look a lot better.

More artwork news. This time it’s for the R2 (UK) release of AvP Requiem. You can find it on Amazon.co.uk. It’s the same as the Unrated R1 artwork but with some noticeable changes. Firstly, it’s being marketed as AvP2 Requiem and secondly, it has Extended Combat Edition at the top.

This confirms the UK will definitely be getting the Extended cut. The two-disc set will go on sale on May 19, 2008 with a retail price of £22.99. Thanks to DazAvP01 for the news.

The DVD artwork for the single-disk Unrated set of AvP Requiem has been released. You can find it on Amazon. It looks familiar. I think the picture was featured on a trading card. The DVD will be released April 15, 2008 in the US.

Sega today issued a press release about the upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines game. The game is now due to be released Late 2008 on PS3, X-Box 360 and PC. They’ve also released a few details about the game:
“Packing classic Aliens weaponry ranging from pulse rifles to flamethrowers as well as brand-new equipment and skills all within a squad-based combat system, players will become an elite United States Colonial Marine. Featuring claustrophobic environments, a brooding soundtrack, and a multitude of surprises and shocks, players will battle against menacing alien hordes in strikingly detailed levels that include the stark interiors of the abandoned Sulaco and unique environments created specifically for the game.
Aliens: Colonial Marines will feature a story driven single-player mode and an all-new four player co-op mode allowing players to share the chilling experience with three friends. In co-op mode, each player will assume the persona of a United States Colonial Marine and have a distinct role to play in the completion of every mission. Additionally, more multiplayer modes will be revealed later in the year that will complete the Aliens video game experience.”

I’ve been waiting for these for ages. Finally, forum member boythatkills, took some pictures of the Aliens: Colonial Marines article inside Game Informer Magazine. He posted the images in the forum.

The pictures look pretty good. They range from facehuggers to dropships. I really can’t wait for this game. It looks set to be great.

If you’ve been over the Game Informer website lately, you might have noticed some funky little banners in the top hand right of the header:

These are three extremely cropped and small in game images. But not only that, if you head on over to the cover story section of the Game Informer website, you’ll find a fantastic little banner showing off the underside of the Face-Hugger and a profile shot of the Aliens. What ya waiting for? Go check it out!

Say hello to Aliens – No Exit, the debut Aliens novel from Brian Evenson. He was mentioned in interview with DH Press editors but we never learnt much about the novel. Until now:

“But Kramm has a secret. He knows why The Company killed twelve of its top scientists. He knows why the aliens have been let loose on the surface of a contested planet. He knows that the information he has is valuable, and that The Company will do everything it can to stop him from telling his secret to the world. Haunted by memories of the brutal murder of his family, Kramm is set adrift amid billion dollar stakes . . . with aliens around every corner, waiting for him to make a mistake.”Due out in July – alongside Aliens Omnibus Volume 4 – No Exit is the sixth in Dark Horse Press’ new series of Aliens novel.
