Alan Silvestri is Interested in Scoring The Predator!

Earlier this month, Shane Black’s The Predator finished shooting and the director/writer is taking a brief break before he heads into the editing bay to cut the film together so news is likely to slow down a bit. However, here’s something from late last year that was missed!

Talking to All Access Alan Silvestri, Predator and Predator 2’s composer, was asked about whether or not he would be returning to score The Predator (about 42 minutes in)!

“All I can say about that is that if the schedule worked and they wanted me to do it, that’s something I would love to do because I did the first two of those and there’s something fun about that whole thing.”

This interview was released in November 2016 so it’s likely The Predator’s composer has already been settled on but we haven’t heard about it yet. Would you like to see Alan Silvestri return for the new film?

Alan Silvestri's score is what made Predator so cool. The score is iconic like the creature itself. Even John Debney who did the score for Predators didn't venture off in a new direction he only added some new electronic sounds in the mix. I think all of us on this forum should somehow convince Shane Black to get Alan on board this new movie. I believe Alan Silvestri can do something remarkable with the new score if he's in. All those percussions and brass is just a pure bad ass for a Predator movie.

Fingers crossed this happens. I loved how they had music from the original film in Predators.
The ENTIRETY of Predators was OST from the first movie. Whoever did additional music for it, their only contribution was adding horrible cheesy metal bro chugga metal guitars to when they were suiting up at the end of the movie.

Would be cool if they got Silvestri though as having a continuous use of the same music has worked well for the series, and if it ain't broken........

I really hope Silvestri is back to score The Predator.I liked Debney's score for Predators but something was missing from it.I think Silverstri can add something new to it again just like he did for Predartor 2.

Today is the day of Predator 30th anniversary,
June 12,1987. Hard to belive it was 30 years ago..25th anniversary feels like yesterday.
Maybe we get something interesting today. :)

Let him do it ! He's a big part of what make the first ones so good.

I really enjoyed John Debney's and Brian Tyler's scores for Predators and AvP Requiem but I'd happily welcome back Alan Silvestri too!

Looks like this one was missed from a good few months back too. Thanks for spotting it fraser.

My pleasure Corporal. I am looking for any bits of information like a hawk on this one. I hope this new movie has the same rewatch value as the original. I've seen that movie so many times and still enjoy it.

I think he would do a great job and make the best most immersive musicfor the film.
The e accents he can do like in back 2the future make the movie exciting and fun.. Roger rabbit..he creates an exciting tone with his music that helps the predator movies very much
His music is such a big part of the first two films ..we need him back.
