Boy, the arms on the xeno are ultra thin. Must be the small transparent xeno from the empire article now grown.

Aha! Also notice the crane says "Gillespie" on the side. Proving my long held theory of a Heat of the Night/Alien crossover. "Courtney! It's headed your way...do you read me Courtney!"   ;D Seriously though, Sidney Portier would've been amazing in the original film, or at least one of the same period style and delivery. Not to play Parker's character mind you, but an original one.

Yeah, I probably will. Sometimes though I wish they'd release that stuff after the film was released. But I understand the business aspect of such a program. It's to draw in the mainstream audience.

I don't think I'll watch the HBO special. I haven't seen one in awhile, but I do remember them spoiling quite a bit. I remember one for Deep Blue Sea and it spoiled Samuel L. Jackson's death.

Could anybody please translate into understandable english what Scott babbles from 0:13'5 to 0:15?

"You know something just terrible's gonna happen."

To anybody wondering if this Special reveals too much... yeah, it definitely does. So if you want to go unspoiled, don't watch this. Full on creature design of the Xenomorph and Facehugger.
    Have you seen it, how?

Oh goodness yes, if they'd do an alien series I'd be all in. Lower production budgets could be easily glossed over if the series was set on (inside) a ship like the nostromo or sevastapol. Endless small Interior set options would keep things fresh, and you don't really need to show the creature that much for it to be scary. Don't know about HBO though, I'd love to see the "Vikings" crew take a swing at it, maybe AMC (absolutely excluding anyone affiliated with the walking dead, even the catering crew). FX...maybe, Sons was dark enough, but they wouldn't have the budget, well maybe, as long as they keep Kurt Sutter away. He'd give his wife the majority of screen time.

Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis just got better over time. That's not a common occurrence in media.

On the subject of serialisation though, I wonder how a Mass Effect style Aliens game could work? Have the 'hub' and supporting characters be a Weyland-Yutani commando unit (or Colonial Marine detachment tied at the hip to WY) specialising in our favourite dribbly critter. Conversational, gameplay and narrative choices based on whether or not you want to toe the company line, and the mission-based planet-hopping format providing scope for exploring diverse aspects of the Alien universe.

Wash your mouth out, son! #StargateForever

But yeah, I think if they ever did attempt Alien on the small screen, they'd need to do it in a more limited format with a smaller number of episodes.
LoL dont worry, i have seen them all when growing up, still have a few episodes of Stargate Universe on my harddrive, lot of potential in that show, but somehow it didnt connect with the people.

What i meant was, that if they do it, they shouldnt go into the engineers like in a Stargate way, when they show a village and an engineers is cooking is stew on fire and is frustrated and yells at his kid and then a dropship comes into the athmosphere and lands, and bla bla and in the end the engineer shakes hands with the colonial army boys because he was wrong about them. ;)

So whats next, an HBO Alien series :)

I wouldn't say no to that. lol. It's good to see them doing this though. I have vague memories of the old HBO special they did for AvP back in the day.

    a) The alien is very smart and begins breaking cameras so they can't track it

I really hope this is the case. I think it'd be a great addition to the showcase of their intelligence.

I used to record HBO's BTS Alien specials. There was one for A3 and A:R. Now Im using a DVR to record this one. My biggest gripe with these BTS specials is they dont get in depth ENOUGH!

A Game of Thrones style ALIEN series, would be incredible.

I think we've heard rumors that the Alien can communicate with the ship, in a more direct way. Im not sure how I feel about that. Depends on how its handled I think. I like the idea of a Biomechanical alien that intuits the workings of technology but if the idea here is the mechanical aspects have been removed from the alien and will be added later, than I think they should wait for that. Unless the idea is the Alien is part AI, in THIS film, it should just be that the alien is a smart animal.

The alien must be headbiting somebody who has one of those "mother" monitors right behind him, because no covenant crew member carries a camera like colonial marines, me guess. Walter just witnesses this while tracking the alien I suppose.

If this not, then it might be:

    a) The alien is very smart and begins breaking cameras so they can't track it
    b) David gets headbiten
  12. zoidy
No, it's definitely a security camera, I didn't realise the angle - the alien is standing up, it's tail over it's right shoulder (!) killing the camera specifically.

    Impressive.

    Clever girl ....

It's probably not destroying the camera, it's probably just capturing it killing a crew member, although the angle would I guess be wrong. We will see.

More importantly, the later sequence showing ridley etc with the practical alien head/torso? With the blood on the mouth, green screen etc, looks like those of us who said the alien in the trailer cut together with Daniels in zero was practical were right  ;)
Thats what i thought, but if you look in the right corner you can see "section-d" so most likely a security camera.
The question i have, is it David or Walter that pulls his head back out of jumpscare, if its Walter, it means he made it back to the Covenant,
and did he won the fight with David, and will Walter now turn evil?
Or is it David on the Covenant, so David is scared of the xeno, or at least impressed.

I hate watching these behind-the-scene videos, it ruins it for me. Movie is looking good as far as im concerned.
We are reaching the end of april, in the beginning of may Covenant will be out in the cinema.
So if you wanna go in unspoiled you better ignore sites like this and movie sites and be carefull on Youtube,
im gonna try to do the same, as for the last years ive read and seen the spoilers before the movies came out, Rogue One was a good example, and that bothered me afterwards because some stuff happens at the end that no one, well at least i didnt expect to happen, so i wonder how would i have experienced that movie if i watched it on my own without spoilers.
And this time i get a retry, and with what better movie in our alien history and in my personal history to do this with Covenant.
