Fox has released high-res images of the shots we saw in the Entertainment Weekly magazine last week. Take a closer look at the first one. You can make out a dead creature lying on the ground near the main characters.
Thanks to Biomechanoid20 and Alien Prequel News for the news.
Haha yeah, they do kinda look like they have 70s do's.

Those search engines suck cause it's on this site:
http://www.michaelfassbender.org/expressen.html
There is a nice collection of those old Prometheus images, good quality:
http://www.michaelfassbender.org/btsprm.html
But IF this site is the only source then it could be new...or it was well hidden for a few years.
So Lindelof finally build a time machine to pick up some 70s porn moustache dudes!

Yes... where is it from?
Ran it through a few sites just then... nada.
might be worth putting it through a reverse image search site like tineye.com but i cant right now as im on my ps3 not pc and cant do it on this.

I am very unsure about the time of the happenings in this image, 1979 or 2011?
At first to me it looks almost exactly like the entry passage to the '79 derelict.
But wasn't that slightly tilted with an uneven floor and had no curve at its end?
And as much as I am informed the tunnel was improvised in '79 from salvaged jockey-room/silo-room parts
because they ran out of money,
this would mean that the white-ish plaster bones elements should already be painted and more attached to another at this point.
To me it looks like they have been cast brand new.
The giant black backdrop in the back reminds me a lot on the ones used on the Prometheus set, I think it looks neater than the ones used back in '79.
I see no flared pants and no silly hair.
The guy in the foreground has slightly longer hair which is still quite fashionable for todays standards.
And wearing a hooded shirt over a jacket looks more modern to me.
The ladder looks just like the one in other Prometheus pics (and thausends of other productions).
But what convinces me most is the overall image quality,
the contrast, the colours, the noise, even the lens flare scream cell phone picture to me.
I think a scanned old image/negative would have quite a different feel to it.
Besides I never even remotely saw a picture like this or even of the derelict tunnel set, have you?

Does kind of look like it huh.
They are forced to wear those haircuts to bring back the 80s Alien mojo

Where has this one come from?
is that a new picture?.. from prometheus?
if so where did it originate from? link?
thanks

More like the entrance passage of the derelict in ALIEN.
Maybe the upward tilted corridor indicates this, since we know that the (then not so derelict yet) derelict will be standing vertical at some point in Prometheus.

Apprarently, the synopsis is fake, created by a poster on imdb in August, but it pre-dates these pictures, and contains this:
The crew sets about attempting to repair the Prometheus, while Elizabeth Shaw leads a recon expedition to investigate nearby structures, which turn out to be a cavernous Engineer temple. Inside the temple, Shaw's team encounters a bizarre BIO-BRAIN, a biomechanical humanoid face set within a towering pillar, as well as thousands of seemingly primitive URNS. David takes several of the urns back to the vessel for analysis.
Ahh..that I didn't know! Either way i'm pretty excited by this but hope the real thing isn't too far off from that synopsis!
It mentions the humans coming face-to-face with a giant human-looking..erm...face, inside the "engineers" mothership.
A bit too coincidental. Plus, the plot breakdown you can find the link to on aintitcool, does sounds brilliant.
With all this talk of Gods, I wonder if the giant head acts as the Holy Grail and the Space Jockey got decapitated by a big buzz saw for failing to "kneel before God"...
... Nah.
makes me wonder what decapitates a jockey? i think we will see new terror beings in Prometheus.
I can confirm a couple more things too. Only a couple, so I have no real clue about the whole plot. But we already knew Weyland was involved from the logo. It just doesn't seem like there's been one with that date that screams completely true yet. At least by the time you make it to the end. Some of them start ok, and are similar, but most likely no one has the ending right. Some are just way too short for a three hour movie, even if they've left parts out.
Based on what exactly?
It sounds fantastic though...and gives some real gravitas behind the origins of the Alien we know and love.
Space Jockeys sound super-scary in some of the scenes....if it's pulled off, Prometheus should be fairly unnerving.
:_)
Lololol Yeah it's probably one of Ridleys Favorite tv adaptations
And Fassbenders totally going to reference Jimmy Smits.
We're through the looking-glass here, people. This flick is going to fly off on a tangent none of us realised (I hope...).
I'm thinking precisely that. Damaged. Possibly even due to the exploration, itself. Assuming what I think is the 'chopped' portion of the arm is precisely that, it's a lot more like a statue. If you cut off an actual creature's limb, the resulting open wound wouldn't stay as open and flat as that.
If anything, the style is possibly influenced by that scene in the TV movie adaptation of 'The Tommyknockers', before all the creatures reawaken.
-Chris.
I thought that, but you'd have to ask why have a statue laid on the ground, in what looks to be a symmetrical room. Also this room can be seen from another angle, there are no statue's anywhere else.
Unless it's a statue that's been pushed over.
:_)
By the way, I don´t know if anybody brought this up yet.
What is this shiny little thing that looks like something stabbed on the "whatever the hell this creature is" ?

PD: Yess guys, you guessed it, I work as a graphic designer.
Yeah, and the stuff, where both women are looking in, is seemingly some sort of space receptacle for alcohol
these pictures, and this one in particular will have been chosen very very carefully to get us excited and talking.
thanks

Seems strange that theyd release a picture showing this ?
