Various French official 20th Century Fox social media accounts have recently shared a new promotional image for Alien: Covenant. Straight from the databanks of Weyland-Yutani’s Ship Catalog, we have a view of the Covenant!

    The one shown in the Covenant trailers is very similar. If anything the digits look longer and the 'face' is smaller compared to the air sacs. It can be easily chalked up to a design flourish rather than being representative of a different 'type' of hugger. It also has a vagina rather than an oyster.

    That model doesn't look all that much different to the facehuggers of old. I wonder if the one/s featured in covernant are more close to the original than people have surmised on here previously?  People have said it looked bigger in the trailers but I was not sure if I agreed.

      Michael Fassbender reveals the dark relationship between David and Walter in Alien: Covenant! 

    Per article:

    Quote    We've known for a while that Michael Fassbender will be playing dual roles in upcoming Ridley Scott movie Alien: Covenant.

    But now several new interviews in Empire magazine have revealed a bit more detail around how the two androids relate. And it's pretty dark.

    Fassbender reveals he treated them as two separate roles. David was the droid from Prometheus, the surrogate child of Weyland who by the end is just a severed head in Elizabeth Shaw's bag. Meanwhile, Walter is the newer version.

    "The technology within Walter will be more advanced, but his ability to have an emotional response to a painting or a relationship is not the same," says Fassbender.

    Walter, we understand, is programmed to be loyal to his crew members where David, as we saw in Prometheus, has other agendas and motivations.

    John Logan who wrote the screenplay for Alien: Covenant expands on this.

    "My approach was to create a backstory with Weyland and the disappointment David has with humanity over the years, finally letting that go deep into his psyche in a very damaging way.

    "Every great story needs a great antagonist and David in a way is the antihero of these Alien movies."

    Could we see David and Walter going toe to toe then - the loyal and advanced model protecting the human crew against the emotional and more intelligent version driven by vanity?

    Ridley Scott elaborates: "Idle hands do the devil's work. This AI believes he's marginally superior to his creator, which creates an emotional reaction called anger. They've made him way too intelligent and way too sensitive. This was the error you'll find out about in Covenant."

    Generally at one month of release, 3 ou 4 trailers are already out! At the same period, Prometheus already had a teaser and 4 trailers.

    Covenant has only a teaser and a trailer
    Fox must be really confident to wait for the last moment before releasing a new trailer.
