You may remember exactly two years ago today, a mystery video appeared on Youtube showing gameplay footage from a Nintendo DS game called Aliens Colonial Marines. It was being developed by Way Forward in association with Gearbox. It had presumably been cancelled by Sega however as of yesterday, Sega had the game classified in Australia suggesting it will be released afterall. The game is called Aliens Infestation and was rated M for mature.

The classification page shows the game as multi-platform but it’s safe to say it will be released for Nintendo DS. When contacted by us, WayForward only confirmed the game’s existence. Thanks to ikarop for the news.
Actually that was a jockey-alien.
Good thing my Mrs has hers. Oh yeah, playing Infestation on a pink DS. Gonna be awesome.

Yeah, if it ever f**king works that is.
Man...That Sucks!
No, it's... complicated. We don't have an R18+ rating for games at the moment, which means that anything which can't be squashed down into the MA15+ bracket is automatically refused classification. While this means that some games are banned, in the majority of cases it actually results in games that have an adult rating overseas being available to 15 year olds, as the most recent AVP has been.
It's a joke.
Just FYI you say thanks to ikarop twice on the homepage
the SNES is more slow and you have more varied objectives and enemies, but it becomes tedious when the spawn points start to show and how it takes you a while to get from place to place because Ripley can't run for shit.
hopefully this game will be everything these two and Contra can offer and more.
Indeed. And I like that look. I've got the Mega Drive version which is mostly the same. It's not going to be a game to take too seriously but it looks like it could be enjoyable.
"THEY MOSTLY COME AT NI-EEEEGHT. MOST-LAY."
The OFLC is notorious for not listing the right platforms. I wouldn't rely too much on the classification data for that.
I would be excited but we've been down this road so many times before.
