Predator 3D Booth @ Comic-Con 2013

CNET have published a new video from the San Diego Comic-Con at the Predator 3D booth. People can go and get their picture taken and a figure will be later made using 3D printing technology. It will show a Predator figure holding your severed head. You can only get your figure if you pre-order the Predator 3D Blu-Ray set at $129.99 which comes with a limited edition Predator head or if you buy the ‘headless’ Blu-Ray 3D set for $49.99.

If you go to the Predator booth, you’ll also get a look at the 3D transfer of the film before it arrives on Blu-Ray later this year. There’s also a “Hunt the Predator” challenge where fans who get their picture taken with the Predator and share it on Twitter/Facebook using the hashtag “#HUNTthePREDATOR” will be entered to receive a front of the line pass at the Predator 3D booth for the 3D printed figure.

Most people I've encountered who shit on Predator 2 are the type who rarely watch any movies and think that it's just more 'knowledgeable' to shit on a sequel just because it's a sequel.  An example is (and this was before Die Hard 4) is people who would speak of 'bad sequels' when mentioning Die Hard.  Yeah, all three Die Hard movies were good.  Not as good as the first, but to adamantly state that they aren't good at all is just annoying.

Or others who say P2 sucks because of no Arnold.  What?  Bullshit.

Great movie that did well to NOT suck next to the original.

    VERY WELL SAID.

Still, P2 is considered good film by most people. I love it as much as P1, though I understand the difference between two. P1 is classic but no sequel to it, no matter how good, will be  classic.

Quotemost of you sound hopeless about a new WELL made predator movie.

It arguably hasn't happened since 1987, and after four failed attempts at making good movies I'm not sure I'd call people hopeless.

I think its actually 1990. I actually enjoy Predator 2, seems much more violent and condensed than P1.

    That's why Hudson wrote 'arguably'.

'Requiem' was more violent than Anderson's effort, too, but most people prefer the former, if they're forced to choose. Violence, on its own, doesn't make a good film as a whole. Just memorable individual scenes.

For instance, the down time between action scenes can be appreciated in 'Predator', but I'm not sure most casual viewers enjoy the same filler content in the sequel to nearly the same degree.

Does anybody know if Fox will be present at the NYCC in October?  I live in New Jersey and for obvious reasons couldn't make the SDCC where they were selling preorders of the Predator 3D set (it being halfway around the country); I may, however, be interested in taking a look if it comes to NYCC.  And for that matter, when does Predator 3D come out anyway?

Fox is not the bad guy. They ask Rodriguez to make a further movie. The problem is that Rodriguez have to many projekts and not enough time. When Sin City 2 come in the cinemas, this would be 9 years after part 1.

i guess sarcasm is not popular with you 2. its more to do with arnold then anyone here..   of course fox is the owner  ..daft? calling the kettle black much?..   my point is most of you sound hopeless about a new WELL made predator movie. im optimistic about it. fox wants arnold, arnold is in terminator 5 with a lead roll.. he said hes discussed predator as well.  leads me to think he is our only option at this point

Chances of a new Predator film look bleak. The underwhelming box office results for the last film just aren't enough for Fox to move forward with a franchise that is floundering (film wise). With their plate full of other projects, I'm sure a Predator movie is the last thing on their minds. It's a shame because the popularity of merchandising, I assume, is great. NECA figures, novelty items, literature (despite not having anything recent). I just wish they would take a leap of faith and give a good director and good writer an opportunity to spark some life into it. Plenty of source material out there to choose from if nothing original! Spruce up one of these graphic novel or novel stories. Alas, I'm sure we've seen the last of the Preds on the big screen. :(
so hopeless dude.   i think its up to arnold . not you.

It's not up to Arnold at all.
if arnold has been pursued for a predator film thats plot relied on dutch as a center piece id guess it was up to him. unless they would just replace arnold.

what ive been wondering for years is,  why doesn't fox sell predator since fox is not really doung much with it other then repackaging the original films. let another studio try to milk something out of it??  hollywood is run by spoiled, greedy,  idiot children , thats why.

Don't be daft. Nowhere in my comments did I allude to a new film being up to me, nor do I think it would be up to Arnold. That's a studio call.

Don't get your hopes up.  Seperating the picture in Predator into several layers will or should be a pain in the ass.  It's not a case of making a building stand out in 3D, which has one straight concise wall with right angles, it's a case of thousands of leaves and other asymmetric vegetation.  That's a lot of work.

It's not a question of whether or not it can be done - Jurassic Park proved that it can (e.g. raptors in the jungle scenes), it's a question of whether or not they half assed it.
