On the subject of the jockey carcass seen in the first Alien flick being actually "grown from the ship" as theorized by Dallas. Maybe the body had been there for so long, that it basically fused with the chair in the millenia since the ship crashed ,and he died. Thus giving the appearance of being a part of the ship. Or else, maybe the jockey-race, genetically engineered a worker class, specially designed for operating the ship in long voyages.
