AVP2:" could not launch LITHTECH.exe" ????

Hello, I'm a new member of avpgalaxy
I've just installed avp2 but it just won't let me play. When I launch it and click "play" a message appear: ERROR-Could not launch LITHTECH.exe. Please make sure that avp2 is installed properly.
I'm dying to play this game now, I really need your help.

I'm using Windows XP, DirectX 9.0c

hmmm AVP2 should work fine with winXP, it did for me for years. have you tried uninstalling it completely, and reinstalling again?

No i haven't tried it, but i think the trouble is not installing, DirectX is the trouble.

Yeah I've done that at first, but there was a problem and the installation was terminated !!! So i just moved on.

have you got Windows Service Pack 3? apparently that helps.

Can you explain how Windows service pack 3 can help me?

Screw sp3, you said there was a problem with the DX installation. Uninstall the game completely and try again.
Also make sure the files aren't corrupted and the copy you have is valid.

Anyway for the Orignal poster, put the disc back in choose uninstall then choose repair ?

Also it could be a number of reasons i would think your running security which thinks "lithtech.exe" is a virus and blocks it.

sounds like trying to insteall DX8 ontop of DX9 broke something. maybe try reinstalling DX9.

Turn of all SECURITY,


UNINSTALL AvP2,


RE-INSTALL and do not choose to install direct X, because your already using DX 9.0c,

And install it in the C Drive.

No not really, but thats default,

install it in what ever drive you see fit, but C:// Drive is standard.
