Anybody ever see or hear of this idea? I hadn't until I ran across some pics while looking for stuff on the web. Here are some cool ones:

I love the Dropship and the APC.

I'm down with this thread!  Larry Lars always has great mocs.  I love his APC, which you've shown...here's his powerloader, since I didn't see it on the link you posted:

A different powerloader by Ben Andrews - closer in proportion to the film version.

Here's a stunning Nostromo, by Mihe Stonee:

Stonee's Sulaco (the lettering on the side is with bricks, using some clever configurations!):

Of course there's a lot more that can be found (a very famous chestburster lego sculpture)...

Wow, hadn't seen those yet. That is awesome. Are those all with regular pieces or did they have to use some other materials/make their own pieces?

Those are all regular pieces...Larry Lars's colonial marines that come with his APC have Brickarms (unofficial) pulse rifles though.  And I'm not sure if the decals on the powerloaders are actual LEGO decals, or fan-made though.

Here's some more creations from around the net...

(What a clever use of the axe blades!)

Some Predators, for some fair measure:

What's surprised me is that no one seems to have attempted a Lego Derelict.

Incredible work! And I'm sure that someone has tried to build a derelict but hasn't finished it yet.

More very cool pieces. Of course I am partial to the queen since she is my favorite  ;D

I wonder what pieces they used to make the dreadlocks?

Short H.R. Giger tribute (R.I.P.) and a bunch of recreations of classic ALIENS scenes in Lego.

Clicking the links above are worth it; this shrunken photo does not do the model justice.
