the visual design and cinematography of the movie were fine in my opinion, but the tone was wrong, and i think that came from jeunets inability to appreciate whedon's writing, he took out a lot of the subtlety made the dark humour just humour, which didn't fit in the movie at all.

Whedon's script had no subtlety. Everything Jeunet did improved that shitstorm.

i haven't read the script, but even watching the movie i can see that if the script was the same, but either the casting was different or the direction of the acting was different it could have been improved, that's just my opinion though, and jeunet not being a native english speaker, i think it was hard for him.

Ghostface

Yeh JPJ was an odd choice for fox.

Odd and good choice. His visual style is wonderful, and he made some scenes truly remarkable (in a good way, inb4 h8erz).
