It's not that they're fewer good anime around now; it's that thanks to fansubs and bit-torrent there is a shit-ton more anime within easy reach. Oh and least not we forgot about that little thing called the internet. In the old days only the most popular series and movies made it to us. Which did tend to be of better quality. For 30 bucks per half hour episode it had better have been good.

I love anime, been watching since I was small. The first show I watched was space pirate captain Harlock on KIKU. Followed by uchuu senkan yamato and macross etc. Currently I've been lazy and the only series I'm following is Fairy Tail. Last week to week series I finished was Kore wa zombie desuka of the dead. :P

Favorite anime is ARIA series.

Alright, now I just need to know what genre you like. Action? Adventure? Military? Horror? Sci-Fi? Space? Fantasy? Comedy? It also helps how much you can stomach age, raunchy humor, and how you like your robots (realistic or over the top approach).

Things like this make me want to punch people in the face. Nothing personal. I always hated anime purist. There are a lot of dubs that have superior voice acting over their Japanese counterparts. Vice versa as well obviously but its laughable when someone tries to be all snooty about dubs.

Louise is a noble girl who is terrible at magic, as her attempts usually result in an explosion. She is nicknamed "Louise the Zero" by her classmates, due to the inability to use any of the four magic elements. Early in the school year at the Tristain Academy of Magic, the second year students perform a special ritual where they summon their familiar, which serves as their eternal protector and partner, and is usually some sort of magical creature. But Louise summons Saito Hiraga, an ordinary teenage boy from Japan, leaving her totally humiliated. Due to the sacredness of the ritual, Louise reluctantly accepts Saito as her familiar, but proceeds to treat Saito as any other familiar, only worse, making him wash her clothes, sleep on a bed of hay, and whipping him with a riding crop for little or no reason. Actually yes it does, Evol is filled with allusions and references from the original series with some in-jokes to boot. In addition they even cleared up some mysteries left in the original. Why someone would watch a sequel before seeing the first entry for reasons other than availabiloty really does baffle me.

No but seriously this is a fantastic anime its all serious with very little if any real humor.  Beautiful drawing and story telling along with many twists and turns to keep you watching.  And to top it off its Feudal Japan anime the best kind of anime!

I actually found this on Netflix when I used to have it. Watched the entire run, loved it so much I went out the next day and bought the Blu Ray set. I even decided to buy Shinobi, which was supposed to be a live action version of the anime. Not nearly as good, but it was entertaining.

No but seriously this is a fantastic anime its all serious with very little if any real humor.  Beautiful drawing and story telling along with many twists and turns to keep you watching.  And to top it off its Feudal Japan anime the best kind of anime!

It's a good series. Only one problem with it. When they made the anime the manga it's based on wasn't finished, so the show just kinda ends.
