Some more news on Cold Iron's project would be great - but I feel it's still too early to see anything. It was over two years between them announcing the Creative Assembly were working on an Alien game and them even announcing the title of Alien: Isolation.

Sounds good! This year, I plan to finally break a box of (2016) Upper Deck Alien Anthology cards! Really hoping for an awesome sketch card or autograph, or, if I picked a very good box, the dual auto of Charles Dance and Charles Dutton (still never even seen one for sale or pulled yet!).

I love the fact that they do this every year now especially since it falls directly on my birthday. Its like it was meant to be. It's made it much easier for my wife and kids to find me awesome gifts the last couple of years. I hope they keep this up every year and keep making new things and not just discounting the same old things that are already out there. I like saving money but i want a push for new stuff with the alien franchise!

I signed up for Eaglemoss. I fell in love with their stuff after they started coming out with a figure for almost everything! Fortunately they're 1:16 scale otherwise my entire office would be filled up.

Ditto Morose...all very exciting... but all I want is a decent Alien movie or game ;) Granted - we did get a great Alien game after the CM fiasco - so, all I want is a decent Alien movie or new AVP game:0)
Or if not AVP, a Pred game. 5 chapters, not necessarily the same pred: A Cretacous level, couple of alien world levels (not necessarily with 'Aliens', but other beasts), a 'Nam level, a Ryushi-like space colony.

I think, realistically, we'll get no Alien movie news until after the deal is all finalized. The best we can really hope for is more game or comic and book news.

Anybody know if they are doing screenings of any of the films for Alien Day? I was always mad living In Wisconsin that they never had screenings by me but we just moved to L.A. last summer so I was hoping someplace out here would be showing Alien or Aliens. Haven't seen either one in a theater and am dying to be able to!

Yep. That's fair. And in all honesty, it's probably for the best. I don't want to get my hope up for something only to have them dashed again. I expect that the folks at Marvel / Disney have a much more vast brain trust that will give the fans something memorable.

I think that one of the companies named in the press release is responsible for the cinema re-releases/events so it's a likelihood that is pretty reasonable.

Not to derail the thread and sort of related. Asking in an active thread.
What was that "ALIEN fan" documentary that came out after AVP-R but before PROMETHEUS that featured a guy who became a fan of ALIEN through "ALIEN WAR" (UK) and set about making his own XENOMORPH costume. He complained that ALIEN-Ressurection Xenos looked like cockroaches. Also featured a surreal painting artist and a computer graphics maker all inspired by ALIEN.
In 30 more days it'll be a year ALIEN-COVENANT was released. Only this time it does feel like a long time has passed.

I have the feeling that something is slowly getting ready for Alien's 40th birthday. Ridley Scott is certainly working on the script for the sequel now, and I don't think he's doing anything else now, which is very surprising, it's a very busy man! I think that this sequel won't change the plans of Disney, it's better to finish the prequel before doing new things (or reboot or marvelisation..). What's more logical to let the creator of the first film finish his vision 40 years later.

Ridley's been linked to a Battle of Britain film, a Merlin saga for Disney and might be adapting Greg Rucka's 'Queen & Country' - on top of another Alien flick.

Not to mention its adaptation of Cartel, the Fox acquired the rights for $6M. The shooting was supposed to start in March but it seems to be pushing again ...
Seriously, do you think Scott is going to make an uninspired umpteenth spy movie based on a forgotten comic ?! Maybe at production and still .. (But you're right, you never know in Hollywood!!) Merlin saga, why not ?! But no idea if the scenario is ready or not. We know that Scott often rewrites his scripts for months.
The Battle of Britain would be a realistic project, a huge project. Scott would love to do it. But it may be added to Scott's long list of dead projects, such as Tripoli, King David, The Eternal War, Prisoners, Monopoly (lol) and so many.
Finally, for me, the only thing that seems really concrete is finished this prequel franchise. Ok, the last episode didn't work commercially. But it would be stupid not to finish it. With a controlled budget, this remains possible.

The Cartel is probably cancelled or delayed for now since Fox is adapting one of Don Winslow's other books for a release next year. Scott will only serve as a producer on that.
Merlin Saga script is finished and ready to go. Scott's production designer (Arthur Max), his cinematographer (Dariusz Wolski) and his costume designer (Janty Yates) is already attached to the project so it's probably what Scott is working on right now - though there has been no official announcement yet.
Doubt very much that there is any movement with regards to a Covenant sequel. There's just nothing on the radar.

We've never had Gareth on the podcast. Met him several times and been out for food together though. Awesome chap. His Alien costume's dog collar even ended up in Colonial Marines.

As a huge alien fan, AlienDay is a pretty big blessing. Best part is the mechant discounts -- DarkHorse etc. Last year i grabbed all the alien comics on the cheap -- really looking forward to this year.

I've heard rumors they're going to release everything in 4k, and that got me hyped for probably nothing. However, if they're going to release everything, or at least Alien, in 4k transfer.....I'll forgive Alien Covenant. If they don't, well I suppose I'll still forgive them about Alien Covenant, because I am a fool in an abusive relationship with this franchise. I'll be grumpy though.

Yeah, no official word, but given the date, I wouldn't be surprised if it's an Alien score. Alien 3 would be the most obvious choice because it's the only one not to receive an expanded reissue yet.
Good news if it is something Alien, though. I have a few releases from La-La Land and they're always brilliantly put together.

I wonder if they recorded material for scenes that were partially shot or deleted. I mean knowing the case of Alien 3, I'm leaning towards it goes without saying. Whether we'll hear it on this, I don't know. The one thing that leaves me thinking that's the case is, while Goldenthal's score for Alien 3 is an absolute masterpiece, the same tracks often times get re used; and I understand why.
But I am curious if he did record more but it didn't make it in, for god knows how many reasons during production. I would be ecstatic if somehow we got, at the very least demos of different ideas he had for scenes. Maybe not even demos, who knows. I really would love for that to happen
Then again it could just be more of the same. The cynic in me is saying that's the case unfortunately, We'll have to wait and see.

Anyone remember that AvP-R fan contest they did where a bunch of fans compete to win the trivia contest? I wish they'd do something like that. That was pretty fun.
Alien Day is so damn silly and tacky, but I kinda love it for obvious reasons. And it gives me an excuse to watch the films at least once a year. Going for Res, Prometheus and Covenant this time around.
Prometheus+Covenant back to back is pro tier viewing.

I think if you search for Alien 3 Extended Soundtrack you should find it. I don't have a link, and the version I have isn't the greatest. Whoever created it, tried to rip out the dialogue, and wasn't completely successful.

I confess I don't actually own the Alien 3 soundtrack album in its entirety, but I suspect it's a given that not all of the film's music is on there. Mainstream soundtrack releases, if you can call them that, are virtually never complete and exhaustive. Specialist labels such as La-La Land exist to correct that :)
But if you want a general idea what could be expected beyond simply any film music that was missing from the existing release, La-La Land very often include alternate, unused takes as bonus tracks.
I supposes there's also a chance this could be a complete franchise set, as they have a habit of putting together some really great series box sets. Their Lethal Weapon one springs to mind.

Cold Forge goes on sale, and by all accounts it's excellent.
Little disappointed there aren't any cool T-shirts this time around. I've picked up some neat ones the last couple of years running.

I'm gonna try to get the mini-version Ben Cooper Alien mask from frightrags! Of course I am also an avid soundtrack collector and if La-La Land records releases the alien3 extended version soundtrack then I'll be all over that also.😋 either way I can't wait, I love Alien Day!!

Nothing has really blown my skirt up aside from cold forge and dust to dust, which ive known about for months.
It wasn't ever really that big. It was just some twitter contests and maybe a few screenings. Last year was the biggest it's ever been. They had actual news and things to share instead of being quiet.
It's just a marketing ploy. A fun one, but it's nothing that needs to be all that serious.

It seemed to me that the first year had the most merch, i had the most fun on that one as well. Last year seemed less so, aside from movie news and screenings there wasnt much.
Anyone heard about any loot crate type deals? I got the aliens lootcrate the first year and the A-Box covenant one last year

Yeah i remember seeing a similar mask when i was little and alien3 had just come out. I still remember thinking,even at 8 or 9, that the mask was terrible lol.

It's promotion for the new Colony Simulator. The easter eggs are graphics from that game placed on monitors within the footage, the hidden message in the middle and the link at the end.

The problem is it doesn't really look like an Alien. It's a 'What'd you come as?' mask.
