Well, this is a turn up for the books. New scenes have been added to the featurette which show some clips from the film and interviews with creature effects guy, Alec Gillis. Not to be missed. I’m currently watching it so I’ll report back soon with some screenshots.

Nice new added scenes. That new face hugger looks damn good. The shots of the predators are nice too. Wish they showed some more on the hydrolic alien though

Awesome! And these are only rough cuts. That part where the Alien is about to kill the guy.. great stuff. I get an Alien 3 vibe by the way the upper portion of its mouth/teeth are positioned. Reminds me of the Dragon.

I think by putting so much time into a hydrolic alien that is only used for six shots makes me think that Anderson is only using the best stuff for even the shortest sequences of this movie. And the Predator jumping across the ledge while a soilder shots at him with a M4A1 looks so cool. Everything is just looking real good. ;D
Yeah, the shot of the Predator jumping looked real rough, what with the wires moving him and all, the movements weren't polished. You can be assured it wont look that fake.
Probably the pre-cut before they modify the shot a little with CGI. Paul said he was gonna do that, so I'm betting we have nothing to worry about 8)
8) Hey guys'n'gals! Well i sat down and watched the feature and i was blown away by what i saw! This will be a great film and from just the few shots we see.. all i can say is.. WOW!!! ;D Me likes it!!!! BuGz 8)
It seems to me (and this is a good thing) that paul anderson is going for the look and feel of the ond alien and predator films, when the alien jumped at the end, it diddnt look all CG, it looked like it would in aliens or in Alien3. also, when the alien was face to face with the guy, that was very Alien3. Also the whole pyramid thing reminds me greatly of the derilict ship from Alien, I guess you could call it the predator version of the derilict. One thing i thougt was kinda iffy was the fact that you could totally see the wire carrying the predator across the air, and his arm and leg movements were kind of dumb, but im sure they will fix that.

I wouldn't say the body. maybe the shoulders. that's the only similiarity (other than the lower jaw) that i see.

YES i watched it. Gotta say im really happy about seeing a normal looking predator. The alien looks just like the one from original alien body and all which i is my second choice over aliens... but what can i do. That pred jumping is so wired. I hope that part where that guy backs away on the floor from the predator when he wipes out his claws isnt from the movie becuase that was really bad acting on that scared guy. I think i rather be scared of a predator more then waiting to see him take out his claws, and slide those boots so much as if hes getting no grip and scared out of his mind all of a sudden. Overall im very happy with how it looks.. so glad they used original alien (even though i wanted one from aliens)

And that dummy alien sitting on the chair in beggining is the best looking alien i ever saw, i love that blueish head and it just looks so much better then the other ones they show. Aliens head was the worst design, it had freaking telephone cables on its head, and also it diddnt match up with the previous alien film. Watch the special features of the Alien quad dvd, see the original design of the alien head before jim screwed it up, it look so f**king cool! but they took the dome off and made a dumb head. Dont get me wrong, I loved the film Aliens, but the heads were my only problem with it. The AVP alien design is the best yet. the naked alien and predator reminded me of one of slofs stories.

On the 8th shot it looks like the Facehugger is climbing up the chest of a person who already has a Facehugger attached to his face.

to ADAMJZ, your complaining that the head design in ALIENS sucks and that James Cameron screwed it up?.Your absolutly wrong because that is the original design that H R GIGER created.That details of the head your describing are on the original one except for the humanesk part with the eyes and nose sockets that are on Gigers creature.Cameron just removed the dome and the human skull like attributes.If you look at any sculpt or the MCFARLANES toys you see that the GIGER Alien has the transparent 'dome' and you can see the details shown in ALIENS.I personaly think this design is way cooler, but I also think that the first alien wasnt a 'Warrior' alien as the ones in Aliens are.The first one seemed much bigger and seemed to have a more human like stature meaning it didn't crawl around on all fours most of the time like the ones in ALIENS did.Also like I said before I think the 'dome' is just temporary until it is fully matured then it falls of after it's membrain underneeth either matures or hardens for safty reasons.I to wan't to know if ther is a Quicktime download for this cause it freezes for me every time I try to watch it >:D
Paul anderson did a great Job with the effects ! The idea of extendinG the Predator bladeZ was kewl ! I was thinking the origional blades wouldn't be a match for the alien.. but now they are. big muther.. it looks like Paul anderson took the best features of the Alien from all the movies and put it in ONe. same wiTH tha PredatoR mask. the predator 2 movie the predatorZ face was too comical like a joke, nothing like predator 1. so He probably put that into prespective.!!! BOOOOYYAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

It looks like Paul Anderson is going to deliver what Alien and Predator fans where waiting for. The best thing about this is if the movie does well, we may be looking at Alien 5 and Predator 3. Kick some ass A.V.P!

Wow!! Wow!! Wow!! This looks just wonderful, I agree that the Predators look bigger!! badder!! and way f....g cool!!! Great job, I had some doubts because Stan Winston isn't involved but so far looks like an excellent job by Woodruff, Gillis and crew, regarding the disccussion about the Alien design, it's a combination of everything, honestly my favorite is Giger's, the problem with this one as I see it is mostly the jaw than the head itself, and what I really don't like is that the body looks completely organic, rather than Biomechanic as it's supposed to be,anyway, eventhough Giger changed the concept design while working on ideas for Alien 3 to a more organic creature, I think the first one is the best, and I hoped to see that again on screen, but seems it's not going to happen, a comment to Adam and Bringer of death, in one of the DVD featurettes,they explain that one of the main reasons Cameron decided to get rid of the dome of the head was production problems, because the domes kept braking apart, so, there you go! Anyway, I'm sure the movie is gonna rock!! 4 months to go!!!

Yes the dome did keep braking off but cameron also thought it looked better off so might as well keep it.

predators are too bulky and clunky, they dont look like the agile creatures weve come to awe. it looks corny the shots are too long. those that look like movie shots. the predators also look really phony. the predators in P1 & P2 looked far more realistic. this movie is gonna blow on so many levels. what a waste. bad special effects. a story that ultimately doesnt relate to the alien and predator films except for the characters. dont waste ur money kids. this film is gonna blow ass gas. lol i will be getting in for free anyway so BWAAHAHA to all you paying suckas
the BRidE, why come here to flame? And all I see is just one bulky predator (scar), the rest seem lean and mean to me. As for the Predator jumping with the wire, well it could be from some kinda device he was to help with certain jumps.
The predator shot where you can see the wires is uncompleated, the predator will cloak before he gets that far,so you wont notice. like the rod on the facehugger. the shots seemed pretty short to me. the only thing I diddnt like was the alien jumping and the predator running at the last part, that looked pretty dumb. but about the bulkyness of the predator. try playing avp2, that is probobly where paul got the idea, diffrent classes are diffrent sizes, the light predator is skinny and fast, but the heavy or assult predator is slow but strong. This movie will be good, but I hope they at least use some CGI. cause some stuff looked fake, but overall this movie will rock. I mean Its not like the other alien or predator movies diddnt have mistakes. let me name afew Alien: the alien should not have had the skull like eye sockets, that was a bad idea. Aliens: LV-426 looks nothing like it did, you can see bishop comming out of the hole when he is in half, the queen walking down the elevator hall looked incredibley fake. Alien3: HOW THE F**k did the alien get on the Sulaco, no explanation. Alien Rez: Just about evreything was wrong with the movie Predator: nothing was wrong with predator. Predator 2: Sex scene was highly unnessisary, the pred vision with his helmet off was diffrent from first movie, the predator saying a bunch of swear words, was cheezy. (not that I mind them) and king willie was a dumb character. dont get me wrong these are all great movies (except AR) but they all have little things wrong with them, and AVP will be no diffrent, but it still will rock.

Judging from Paul's past movies he has made. None of them really made me what to see them over and over again. Such as Resident Evil and Event Horizon. Those movies I would maybe watch once or twice in the theater and maybe buy the DVD if I was bored enough one night. So I would not expect this movie to be as great as I want it to be. Sometimes all you have to do to determine the future is look at the past.
So far the ONLY disappointment in AVP for me so far is the Predator hair. Personally i don't think it looks good THAT long. I liked the original Pred 1. But hey, maybe they just wear their hair different like we all do.
Resident evil was definatley a memorable movie, so was soldier, this will be pauls finest, I dont care wat you say. but looking at the past has nothing to do with the future. the director of Hellboy had made only avarage movies. but when when hellboy came out it kicked ass. AVP will be the same way.
And If you read the comics, the preds have tons of diffrent hair styles, one cut it really short, and another even bonded them into a ponytail, that was pretty cool looking especally since it was a girl pred. but year, the mid sized predator has long hair, and the big pred has short hair. lets hope paul is still holding some secrets from us such as a predalien or female pred. dont say that just because they havent said anything about it that it is not possible. no one new about the newborn in AR (though lets hope that the surprise is not nearly that bad)
Predator 2 was cool, but your right, they could have worked harder on the special effects, the plasma fire diddnt look half as good as it did in the first one.
OK AvP fans!! it's very interesting to see all kinds of points of view here, so, let me share some thoughts, I think of Sci-Fi/Horror movies as a very complex genre, you have the Excellent movies (like the Original Starwars, Lord of the Rings, Matrix, the Exorcist) the Great movies (such as Alien, Predator, Terminator) the Ok movies, fun to watch (Resident Evil, Nightmare on Elm Street, Underworld, Friday the 13th), the crappy but fun (Army of Darkness, Guyver,Pumpkinhead) and the very bad ones...but sometimes cult classics (like the Toxic avenger...hehe) Any way my guess is that AvP will be somewhere in between OK and Great, I don't expect more because for that you'd have to get Cameron or Scott for Director, Giger and Winston for creature design, excellen t writers, a 200 million budget and at least one big star on a leading role, Personally I like Resident Evil and Event Horizon as a different approach of Sci Fi/Horror fun watching movies, so it doesn't matter if the Predator is a little different from the original, I'm not so sure about the Alien but I'm sure I'm gonna watch this movie many times, just because it's one of my favorite franchises, just like Freddy vs. Jason, it was a lot of fun to watch, just sit back and enjoy the ride!! If you feel it's gonna suck, don't watch it!! but I'm sure EVERYBODY, even those who make bad comments will end up watching it at least twice!! hehe, and wait when the DVD comes out!! I just hope this becomes such a hit that FOX move forward to produce Alien 5 and Predator 3....we can just hope!!

The director of Hellboy Gurmo Del Toro made Blade 2 which made a lot of money and was way above just an average movie. Also Residnet evil and Soldier are good movies, but could have been way better especially Resident Evil. All in all one can not fully judge this movie until you see it.
Paul Anderson said the budget of the film is more than a 100 and less than a 100,000.

what do you mean the story is bad? THE STORY IS AWESOME! The pyramid concept reminds me of the Derilict ship, also the previously planned egg silo for the first alien film. I also love the fact that you get to see how weiland industries began, and also the movie has a kick ass and hot heroine, shes like a cross between ripley and danny glover in pred 2. And lance in the movie, that was a real good choice. predators using the coldest, and most harsh part of earth for their manhood rituals, great story. but did the preds buil the pyramid, or did the preds get humans to build the pyramid, because i dont see how ancients can survive in that kind of cold. ???

AdamJz, about the your post about the facehugger on the Sulaco, well somethings are better if they remain a mystery *cough Phantom Menace *cough.
I would also like to have one more alien movie which would explain their origin, or on the other hand may be aliens should stay misterious creatures, I em not sure whats best for legacy. first alien was just an unknown creature with no background and still scared the shit out of everybody. now all those comics they just ruined the mistery of alien. less you know, scaryer it is, thats the human nature.
I'd like to see a Predator 3 take place in the future, a time period just before Alien. Then follow that movie up with an AVP 2 movie based soley on the original comic book series (as it was planned many years ago). Have AVP2 take place during the time frame when Ripely was sleeping/drifting in space for her 50 some years so that in some instance, it'd be a prequal to Aliens. It's just an idea.

the facehugger attack. very creepy, because it happens slowly. it crawls slowly to the prey/host. The host seems to be paralized (how do you write this word?), since it's not moving or fighting back. It looks like the prey was knocked about before the facehugger jumped at it. Maybe a little facehugger fights against the prey, and the facehugger wins as the prey falls on his back. Here's another point. It's a behind the scenes fragment. They can do either things in the final cut. Have the facehugger crawl slowly to the host's mouth or speed up this shot, so it will look like the facehugger attacks fiercely and crawls very fast in the final cut. What do you think? Will the facehugger crawl slowly or fast in the final cut? I prefer slowly, because it's more creepy. What do you think about the host? Human or Predator? My wild guess is human. I also love the last part where the Predator shows its blades and then runs and jumps (to an alien? we don't know for sure since it are all loose fragments).
Cheerz for the info AdamJZ, even though im a much bigger Alien fan, it's going to be a thrill to see the Predator back on the big screen after more than 10 years abcense. And i would like to comment on the creature effects done by Gillis and Woodruff, i think they look great and think Anderson pulled off a real coup by getting them on board. I personally would have preferred them over Stan Winston because after seeing his latest work (the three hillbillys in Wrong Turn which were laughable, and Darkness Falls which is hardly Aliens or Terminator) i dont see how he could have taken the effects further in this movie.
I think it looks better than i thought it would...having been a massive fan of AVP comics and the films, i reckon this will be pretty hot. I still think the aliens look like the Resurrection ones (really gloopy,slightly spastic retards). Shame they don't look like the original giger ALIEN one. That one moves very slow and calculating and is almost machine like, which makes it seem more indestructable. Still wanna see this film soooo much i have cum in my pants!!!!

About the Preds: Technology changes all the time. Why can't their armour, weapons, helmets, etc vary in looks or be more original? Also, does anyone else think that watching all the 'Making Of' featurettes, reading all set reports and interviews spoil our enjoyment of the film. I mean, won't it kinda destroy the fantasy of it? Just askin'.
PS: Just a little detail I noticed: The Facehugger crawls up the person slowly. Aren't they supposed to be lightning fast so they don't have a chance to escape? Cool, how they did it though. 8)

I'll wait till it comes out in the USA, then get a pirate copy ;) . I know that's not very noble of me, but I just can't wait to see it and I'm not going to wait till October. It better be good quality, too, because this film is going to be DARK.

Haven't seen the featurette, but (as a confirmed Alien fan) those alien / facehugger screenshots look excellent! Plus, the aliens / predators aren't radically different from what's been seen so far. With both this film and Batman Begins in production, I feel just fine! J :)

Im with u thinkugotachance (and relax), if you are a true fan you will go and see the film at the cinema. Remember if it's good, our paying for a ticket will go along way in FOX thinking about doing another one. After watching the featurette about 50 times I am about 95% sure that the facehugger is crawling up to the face of a sleeping or unconscious woman or man most likely a woman judging from the chest. Its hard to tell at first because the woman has on some sort of a hat on, but if you watch it enough times you can see the outline of a face just when the facehugger pushes that persons head back.

Personally watching movies in the theater sucks! Its so unconftable and sound sucks anyway in theater. If you have a home theater u would know this. I enjoy watching a movie at home alot better, in fact some movies i watched in theater i thought it was ok or sucked but when i watched it at home some movies i just loved! gladiator is one example. Yes overall watching in theater is better becuase bootleg movies are crap. Only action movies are a wast watching bootleg. But month after or so better copys come out on the internet and its so more enjoyable. I hardly go to theater anymore not becuase of money but becuase it just sucks. Spiderman 2 and avp and the only ones ill be watching this year.

i think PUAL is going to do a good job with the movie,i was looking how pual shot the film,and i realy as has the right state of form in how a alien or predator film would look like,dark,scary ,realistic in the sense if a team was taken on a predator or alien.
I agree Paul always does a really good job when it comes to the movement and duration of the camera. I just hope the whole story iss just as good.

Fantastic. PA has gone old school with this one. I hate the way CGI has ruined the mystique of the Aliens and Predators... the whole reason the original films were great was coz the creatures where kept mostly hidden ... CG ruined this to some extent (also bad stories too ;p) I for one can't wait for this film

I to HOPE that this movie delivers but I have some doubts due to the fact that the effects team consists of Alec Gilis and Tom Woodruff and there whole company I forget the name.They are the ones who gave us the SHITY Alien Resurection movie/Alien design, wich is the same design in this movie but black and diff. tails.They also did the Alien 3 effects to wich were pretty disapointing most of the time.The featurettes look pretty cool but it all comes down to the final product and how the movie actualy turns out.Don't get me wrong, I'm one of the biggest Alien/Predator freeks you'll find but when my fav franchise is in the hands of the people who brought us ALIEN RESURECTION I get a little worried.Not only does there Alien design take the Bio-mechanical features out they modifiy the heads and bodies drastically.They slope the forheads back and push the chins out a great deal wich they say makes it look more 'evil', not!They also F**k up the sweet looking bodie design to look all mushy and to organic.Alot of you will prob. disagree with me wich is fine with me but this is how I feel when I see the coolest looking creature from any movie/book whatever and just give it a makeover from Alien resurection, it just doesn't cut it with my standards.I do how ever like the fact that you won't see to much of the Alien in this movie wich is a good way of covering up an inferior design.Now by no means am I writing this to put down or to bash this movie I'm just saying hoe I feel.You never know, the Aliens might even look pretty sweet since the film is very dark looking.The Preds on the other hand look Bad ass! to all of those who dont like how preds look! In pred1 and pred2 there was a same guy who played pred, so the body type was the same. that doses not mean that all preds should be tall and thin. look around ho much humans differ from one another. so why should all preds be in the same weight category ;) , as for the masc, they have to be different too. pred are not some military unit to have the same uniforms. they are hunters and its up to "them to choose" what to wear on their ugly faces ;D . look at our own history, knites in medieval for example. you cant find to similar helmets.

I pray to God that this doesn't turn out to be a 12 year old's movie. You know how the first two Terminator films were categorically classic in their own way, and then some useless tosser came and shat all over the franchise with the third film. Damn that sucked ass. They may as well of made a cheap animated cartoon series for kids TV. They need to avoid this with AVP, i've read countless times this is for the fans and thats why FOX put one in charge, Anderson. OldEntish, your point is a good one about the Weyland character and how he links in with the Alien franchise, put i cant see him surviving and perhaps he's already devoloped his super intelligent Android line before the Mission, he is a billionaire. Well im in favour of predator 3 and alien 5. Alien 5 should be called 'alien evolution'. Alien 5 should finish the series once and for all a good storyline, actors and keep it true to the original 'Alien'. Predator 3 should be made but 'dont' leave it open for another, like in predator 2 at the end. Make it like the original, it will 'sell' but most important it will please the fans, as well as that a trilogy can be released, which would be good....... I dont think they should make another avp movie. cause it aint gonna work (trust me)

Wasn't "Bishop" an older model? If anything, he'd built Ash first, or a droid that looks completely different. Or perhaps that's where a twist might come in: a member of the team could be a Synthetic... maybe it's Lex, if she survives.
I personally agree with bringer of Death, the alien is way too organic, what about the Biomechanic killing machine originally designed....but I'm sure they couldn't afford Giger, oh and just for somebody that was making comments on the Alien Resurrection queen, that was the same used on Aliens, they just repainted it and gave it a little makeover.... Anyway, eventhough I like Anderson's work a lot, and I'm a huge fan of AvPand I'm sure the movie will rock! but I don't want to have extremely high expectations, that way if it's just OK I won't get disappointed he he....it happened to me with Underworld, I was expecting so much of that movie that I got really dissapointed, that's just one of those movies that the best part is the Poster!! Oh an I noticed some guys were talking about Guillermo del Toro, he's an excellent mexican director who originally directed a movie called Chronos about an Alchemist that developed an item that provides eternal life, it's very cool, chek it out, and it actually had Ron Perlman on the cast! I was actually excited of wathcing Perlman in Alien Resurrection....that movie eventhough it sucks in general has very interesting details, like the designs of the ships, the SFX are very neat, overall the point is that the movie is on it's way!! right now a lot of people are involved and working hard to deliver us a fun watching, thrilling, chilling, espectacular movie, and I dont' care, it will make history no matter what!! and I'll watch it many times in the movie theater, because eventhough I agree that the sound may be better in a Home Theater, I prefer the movie theater experience, super huge Screen, popcorn and ambience!! Sit back and enjoy the ride!!! Watch OUt!! The aliens and the Predators are almost here!!!

T3 was awesome!!!!!!!!!!! and by the way the queen alien in AR was the smae head from aliens, but they gutted it and put in new electronics. but they are building an entiely new queen for AVP, the most advanced yet! and also I thought that Underworld was really cool, you guys have no taste! evreyone hated alien3, personally I thought that it was just as good as aliens. The alien in the first movie was too bio organic, it looked like a robot, thank goodnes you only saw it for a little bit, the alien looked good in AR except for the color and the chin, which they have fixed in AVP, so prepare for a classic you STUPID MOTHER F***ERS!!!!!! yeah two aliens fighting each other that cant talk isnt a good movie. Theres should not be a second avp movie forsure. I rather see more aliens and pred movies. I dont think alien should end at 5 but it wouldnt hurt that much if it did. I think even if reply isnt in a 6th alien movie or whatever then it will be ok. I do wanna see 5 on earth and 6 on alien home planet... i feel both need to be seen. As for predator i really wanna see a couple of more movies since preds and humans are really advanced creatures in terms of technology. Sure preds are more advanced but we will have more numbers.
If you watch T3 in theather, it's actually very good, but the dvd suck.
I've come to a wise conclusion.....(me wise...ha ha) Our ideas, expectations, conepts of what the movie should be really don't matter, I'm sure this guys are doing their best to deliver a great movie, but as always, somebody will liket it, somebody will love it, others will hate it.... as far as I'm concerned, cant' wait to watch it!!! I just hope it's not just a good intention project, like Spawn, man that really sucked....what disappoints me is that McFarlane is producing the AvP action figures...but you can't have it all... the Alien and Predator Movie Maniacs series really sucked.... wouldn't it be great to have AvP on IMAX!!!! Imagine the sixe of those MoFos!!!
Listen up OldEntish Weyland will definately DIE in this movie for a fact. It's basically already out of the bag with the write ups, reviews, storylines etc. It's been hinted at more and more if you've been keeping up to date with the progress. Why keep a bedridden old timer for a potential AVP2 when they could be using his synthetic version/s? You are also forgetting about the Wutani character who also starts of the company experimenting with the Xenomorphs. There are plenty of ways the 'secret' of the pyramids could get back from Antarctica. And have you considered the possibility that the writer of the film wanted the whole thing kept secret from anyone at the end of this movie. As for T3, its possibly the worst sequel I've ever seen. It's for childeren who don't give a shit about storyline or characters... more like geeks who want to see constant explosions and stupid OTT effects.

They should make Preator 3 about the COLD WAR comic, and have the Rock as Schafer, but instead of being Arnold's brother have him be the child of Arnold and the woman from Pred .In the comic there are lots of Preds in it and a good story to.Also it would be cool to see them in a blizzard like inviro. even though AVP is in Antarctica there in the temple most of the time.Also the AVP series should have (1) sequel not many, that would ruin it.Have the film on the Predator home world or something sweet like that.We follow there ship back to there planet and crash land there then all hell breaks loose, also we could see how the Preds live and what they are like when not on the hunt.That last one was actually a comic I made about 2 years ago wich I thought kicked ass.Heres hoping that this movie will kick some surious tail ;D P.S I told ya GIGER is still alive and prob. pissed at how his creation has gone from amazing to poopy ???

georgios they have been on about making this film for 13 years i know cus i got all the dark horse comics and in the first alien vs predator film they was gunna make ages ago it was set on a jungled planet but there was no humans in it, so it got binned cus ppl did not want to read subtitles for the preds, they have been on about making this movie for years there been loads of scrips for it but till now they got a good enough scriped from KING ANDERSON lol so yes it wwas a hint and thats why ripley was killed off cus s weaver did not like the idea of A v P and didnt want to be in it... and to be honist im glad weaver aint in this one we needed a new hero.. ps i think us from the uk should sort a trip out to go see a v p in the us what u think?
hey I have a question, why do you think there would be an "elder" predator on this mission with the young preds trying to become men. is he suppose to watch over them or something. even the toy of the "elder" predator looks old, so does any body have the faintest idea of what he is doing there. i thought thet was just really interesting.

BEEKO cus they prob sent the colinist there to to find it wile they didnt know. they may of lost the signol from the jocky and they didnt have the grid ref for the ship till they found ripley as it was recored in the ships log,cus in aliens S I the jocky ship look a bit more batterd so it may have lost the signol, that what i think

i think too many people judge the alien movies by the design instead of action and storyline.
I am hearing a lot about an alien/pred hybrid. But if you think about it, the hybrid could destroy series continuity if they make it look like some super monster we have never seen before. If you think about it, the only thing that changed on the dog alien was the hind legs and the way it walked. the actual physical appearance did not change drastically. A predator is similar to a human in that it's physical form and movements are the same as a human. It walks upright on two legs etc. Does anyone get what I'm trying to say? I dunno maybe they could make the hybrid bigger and bulkier or something. The trailer looks good, but i am disappointed not to see the HR giger design. That design was the creepiest. Even Jims version, which was still actually HRs design, was good because all he did was remove the dome. If I were Paul, I would have had Jim's and Ridley's aliens in the movie. The dome headed would protect the queen and the warriors would go out and gather for face huggers. I would also use the tubes on the aliens backs to secrete resin to imprison hosts. I think the aliens in AVP look just like the AR aliens. I also think the mouths need more animation; lips curling up etc. These aliens mouths look like pez dispensers. Well that's all i have to say. I am still going to give the movie a chance as it doesn't look all that bad.
Again some very good points. i could not have said it better my self. I'm still giving the story a chance but the alien monster design is depressing to see. so basicly i'm looking at this being to me as a 3rd installment of a predator movie.
Hey, here is something to get people talking. I picked up a copy of MovieFX Magazine Issue 8. It has the creature feature for AVP in it. However, there is another feature (not related to AVP Movie) called A Directors Vision PT 2. Part 1 is from Issue 7. This shows the making of a movie or short film involving Alien, Predator, and Batman. It is interesting to watch. Just wanted to let you people out there know about it. ;D I would also like to say that I had my doubts before about this movie but like most of you out there I've wated a long @$$ time for this. Personally, I like what I see. It was even mentioned in the set reports that when you see the costumes they suck, but on screen and lit the right way they are F***in' bad ass. I think it is ok to modify the creatures a little bit. When you go dear hunting you don't take a bb gun you take a bigger gun. There is not any way that Paul Anderson can please even damn person out there. It is IMPOSSIBLE!!!! He is a fan of both of these movies, and from what I've heard so are most of the crew members. Give the man a chance. Some of us see something out of place and immediately think that it is wrong. Like stated above you don't need giger or winston (while I'm a fan of both) to have amazing designs. Other movies have been made that had monsters in it, that people liked. Winston no doubt is a mastermind at what he does, just like Ridley Scott and Cameron. I feel that Paul Anderson will not leave the fans dissappointed. I'm just glad that this movie is out of pre-production hell and is finally happening. Being a fan of both franchises it is a dream come true. Later Everyone
Mindfreak19: the batman movie you are talking about is batman: dead end, a short film where batman hunts down the escaped joker only to be confronted with the aliens & predators. approx. 8mins long and can be picked up on ebay with lots of great extra features.
For those of you who dont like the Alien design, PA wanted to return to the earlier tradition of the films and not reveal the creature too much, i personally think the design looks quite good though

to Aliens Rule!:: I agree with you. I myself hope that the PredAlien doesn't look too much like the Predator. Maybe just be bulkier and have the same kind of mouth as the Predator, but everything else would resemble Alien in it's beauty. If anything else that could be different, perhaps it's killing patterns? Kill only the ones who are armed and take who ever's not armed back to the eggs. I don't think it should hunt other hunt the other Aliens like the "Newborn" killing the Queen for whatever damn reason. It should be part of the colony. I mean, if Predators were the only hosts the the facehuggers could find, then you wouldn't have a breed of PredAliens hunting down the Queen. They got to help the colony thrive and bring the queen whatever hosts they can find. That's just how i see it. Who knows if Anderson sees it the same way.
you know that the jockey is fossilized, meaning that beacon must have been going for thousands maybe millions of years, i think another 57 years, actually more like 27 years more and the beacon gave out? plausible but as immpossible as possible.

And i know that every one is entilted to their own opinion, i would just like to share my thoughts on it. first off i was pleased with what anderson is doing, i think that he will bring alot to the franchise. I dont understand why everyone wants to bash the pred in Pred 2, granted the MOVIE wasnt better than the first but you have to understand that with a whole new predator you get a whole new personality, with that said, i beleive the 1st predator is more of a hardass,where pred 2 is more of a badass. and pred 2 looked like he had a smartass attitude to him as the 1st seemed to be like "what the f**k is wrong with you dont you know that i am bigger than you?". but the new preds look great i like the fact that one of them is a mammoth, it just shows the different types of predators there are, in a huge pack of hunters there will always be that hammer,that might not be agile or fast but packs one hell of a punch. and on the alien note, i am glad they dont have the look of Aliens, it just looked bogus to me, there was just too much detail in the head but the body was really cool. but in my opinion i would have to say the best looking alien was in alien res, sorry but i really beleive it But I did not like the color of it,and dont get me wrong alien res blows monkey balls, i just like the sleek cheetah look to it, it had a feel of speed and agility(now all i am talking about is the look not the movie not the movements it had in the movie) but thats all i have to say. oh yea and BRIDE.........blow me bitch and adam jz keep up the good work. take it easy
i forgot to add one more thing, i am really looking forward to seeing what effect alien blood has on the predators, like what they use in their med packs to prevent further burning or just to see what it would look like for a predators skin to melt, or if were lucky we will get to see what is inside a predator, weve seen the insides of humans, aliens, but only blood from the predator, only time will tell oh yea and BRIDE..........blow me bitch
2 Hardass Predator,I ve read your entry and have come to the conclusion that you are with the few that DON'T know what your talking about.First you say that the the detail of the heads in Aliens was to much and bogus!? then you say that the alien res. is the best design? I think not. >:D WORST ALIEN DESIGN EVERRRRRRRR!!!!!!!.It's just sad that they are using almost the same molds in this movie for the alien.I do how ever agree with your Predator remarks in that I to would like to see some Predator disemboweling and guts spilling.Also I agree with....Blow me Bride!!!!!!!!!! you Beeeeeyatchhhhhhh! ;D ;D ;D

i hated the game predalien i think it should look the same as it would as comin out of a human but just bulkyer( bigger built) maybe a a pred like mouth but NO DREAD LOCKS lol or maybe garila like
I think the way the facehugger attacked it's host in the first Alien was awesome! Very fast and badass! And I also like the way they scurried in Aliens. Like a quick spider. I would really like to see that in this new film. That shot of the facehugger moving very slowly in the new trailor was still cool though. I guess it felt unthreatened because the host seemed to be unconscious. Can someone answer this: If the facehugger could penetrate Kane's helmet unharmed, then how could the EEV lifepod glass in Alien 3 cut the facehugger.
