We’ve seen a lot of Alien: Romulus news this week regarding the cast of the upcoming film from Fede Alvarez! And Variety is now reporting that the film will be going in front of cameras towards the end of next week on March 9th. Earlier reports had filming starting in February, but that appears to not be the case.
Variety’s article also includes the first official synopsis released for Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus, but don’t expect any specific details! And while we’re all calling the film Alien: Romulus following some earlier leaks, Variety did note that the film’s title had yet to be officially announced.
While the premise for the yet-to-be-titled movie has been kept under wraps, the studio did reveal that the film will follow “a group of young people on a distant world, who find themselves in a confrontation with the most terrifying life form in the universe.”
The production is taking place in Budapest, where some shooting is said to be taking place at Origo Studios in Budapest, where several notable recent sci-fi films like Blade Runner 2049, and Dune (2021) and The Martian have also been filmed.
