Appearance

Njohrr is a physically immense and exceptionally muscular Yautja, standing approximately 6’10” tall. He wears heavy, ornate armour, which features an integrated Shoulder Cannon. His distinctive helmet is adorned with antler-like horns. Other prominent features include a dark cape, a small beard, and long, white dreadlocks, which signify his advanced age and experience as an Elder Predator.

Biography

The Pelkonen IV Incident

Njohrr told Dek to retrieve an ancient Power Core from a derelict starship that had been crashed for ten millennia on the desolate moon of Pelkonen IV. His other son, Kwei, escorted Dek to the perimeter before speeding away on a Predator Bike, leaving Dek to face the mission alone. Dek failed to retrieve the Power Core and returned empty-handed. Back on Yautja Prime, Njohrr was enraged by the mission failure, branding Dek an embarrassment to the clan.

The Order to Kill

Njohrr had ordered his son Kwei to kill Dek during his training session, as he feels Dek is an embarrassment to the clan.

The Sacrifice and Death

As Kwei helped Dek plan his journey, their father, Njohrr, arrived and immediately chastised Kwei for sparing Dek’s life, deeming Dek a liability whose only honourable contribution would be his death. Kwei says that Dek will bring home the Kalisk, but Njohrr laughs, calling Dek a runt and telling Kwei he should have killed him in his sleep. Njohrr restrains the younger Yautja and orders Kwei to execute him. Kwei refused this command, instead freeing his brother from the restraints and activating Dek’s zip line to allow him to escape. As Njohrr fired his shoulder cannon at the fleeing Dek, Kwei deflected the blast with his wrist shield. Kwei and Njohrr fight.

Njohrr orders Kwei to kill Dek.

Njohrr quickly overpowered Kwei, slicing off his arm. Kwei crawled to his wrist computer and successfully activated Dek’s ship launch sequence. Njohrr then impaled Kwei through the chest and then beheaded him. Kwei’s sacrifice allowed Dek to leave Yautja Prime for Genna.

Dek Returns to Yautja Prime

Dek, Thia and Bud return to Yautja Prime and Dek’s father, Njohrr, greets him. Dek tells him he’s here for his cloak and throws Tessa‘s head at his feet, declaring that this is his trophy. Njohrr asks two accompanying Predators to kill Dek. Dek uses his wrist blades in the battle, but kills them quickly with his telescopic spear. Dek and his father duel. Dek thrusts part of the spear into his father’s leg. They run towards each other and his father cloaks. Dek activates his ship, which causes a dust storm to appear, which disrupts his father’s cloak.

 Njohrr (Predator: Badlands)

Njohrr

Dek slices off Njohrr’s arm and steals his disabling device. Dek throws it to the ground and Njohrr falls to his knees. Dek uses the spear to remove Njohrr’s mask. Njohrr says, “Yield now and take your place in our clan”. Dek says he already has a clan and Bud, who has grown substantially bigger, appears behind Njohrr and bites his head off. Dek picks up his father’s severed arm and removes the cloaking device, and puts it into his own gauntlet.

  • Favouritism: Njohrr viewed his eldest son, Kwei, as the ideal warrior.
  • Disdain for Dek: He considered his younger son, Dek, a “runt” and a disgrace to his lineage due to Dek’s smaller stature.
  • Cruelty: Njohrr orders Kwei to execute Dek, which served no purpose other than to cause pain to both of his children.

Behind-The-Scenes

Njohrr was portrayed by New Zealand heavyweight kick boxer Reuben de Jong, who is 6’10”. The decision to cast a martial artist of this significant height was crucial to emphasise Njohrr’s massive, imposing stature. The character’s Yautja language dialogue was voiced by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, who plays Dek.
