I don't know why it should be doing it, it's not a thin PS2 is it? Because if it is, they won't run any Blue disks at all.

Maybe you'll get lucky, but everyone of my friends got a thin PS2, and it turned out they couldn't play any Blue disks, sorry. :-\

I have my PS2 now. I'm gonna go see!  :P

EDIT: It began to load- the Playstation 2 bit came up. Then the loading screen and the console began to make squeeking and grinding noises  :'( It got really bad and I had to take the disk out  >:(  I guess you were right, Private Hudson. :)

DON'T DO THAT!!!!!!
sorry dude, but:...>

Use one of those vacums for the PS2.  Blowing hard into it will just push the dust further in.  Trust me, I know.  Mine plays the blue disk.  The blue disks are older PS2 games that are still on CD-ROM.  All others are made on DVD-ROMs.  I have actually converted this game (AVP:E) to PSP format!  It is awsome!  If any one wants this game in a converted state, to play on their PSP, PM me and let me know.

Peace.  Good luck.

My game did that for awhile, along with other games on purple discs. It is because the original fat PS2's would get messed up after awhile and the laser would not be aligned or something. There was actually a lawsuit against Sony for using cheap parts so they had to repair them for free. I saw something on the internet about it and was skeptical until I called the same number and they agreed to fix it and all I had to pay for was the shipping.
