Similarities between AVP and Resident Evil

In Resident Evil: Collin Salmon's character is killed by a grid laser defense system, right before, his knife gets cut by the lazers.
In AVP: Collin Salmon's character is killed by a grid shaped hunting net, right before, Sebastian's knife is cut by the razor wire.

In Resident Evil: There is a map system showing the location of the team, based on the wrist computer of a Umbrealla Hazard team member.
In AVP: There is a map system showing the location of the team based on the Predator's Wrist Computer.

I think that's stretching it a bit. A lab in some dirt isn't anything close to a pyramid in some ice. I don't see what you see. Besides the term "red queen" was first in "Genocide", or was it "Alice Through the Looking Glass"?

In Resident Evil: As Alice and Matt are escaping the Hive, Matt is dragged away and later turned into an asset for the Umbrella Corporation.
In AVP: As Lex and Sebastion are escaping pursuit, Sebastion is dragged away and later turned into a hose for the alien hive.

Well, since both are Anderson works, I guess Mortal Kombat can fit in here as well.


AVP: Predator kills one of the mining crew by chucking a spear at him, and he flies backwards and is pinned to a wall, and dies hanging.

Mortal Kombat: Liu Kang fights Sub Zero, who is beginning his ice power, when Liu Kang hurls a bucket of ice at him, which freazes into a spike in midair, which penetrates through his chest, and kills him as he hangs on the wall, just like AVP.

so an alien throwing a spear at a guy on a hunt(in Antartica) is pretty much the same situation as two humans(or w/e Sub-Zero is)in a tournment where one of them gets impaled by a sharp frozen object(which I think was a bucket of water at one point) ?

I don't think it's hard to find similarities, I think it's a bit farfetched since the only relation I can see is he directed the 2 movies. still his style will usually affect the films he makes, so there is probably truth in what you say.
