This recent trend of building physical models and then scanning them in for use digitally has been fantastic. The Corbelian looked like a far better effect than either the Prometheus or the Covenant did to me.

Impressive, especially the oncoming crawling Xeno's in the hive scene. I swear I thought that was men in suits. Very, very effective and realistic looking CGI.

I kinda missed seeing the Egg in this (they have an artificial egg in the earlier draft that's also kinda different), but I do love the prop here! It makes sense with them only re-engineering the hugger itself, not the actual egg, that they'd look at some other kind of containment and once I learnt about scientists actually working on 3d printing organs and etc, I was all aboard with this.

It's a damn shame the offspring doesn't appear anywhere in the behind the scenes on the 4K bluray. Unless I'm missing something.

Anyway, I did find this brief moment in the deleted/extended scenes interesting. A facehugger attached the back of someone's head?? Perhaps chewing of their brains? Not sure what the idea was but it's a disturbing image (albeit it has unfinished effects)
