We need a novelization too.  Someone from Titan needs to call Alan Dean Foster.

Looks like an independent publisher working through Amazon, but it is listed on Canada's Chapters / Indigo site so there is some legitimacy to this.

I emailed ADF about something else week before last.  Bounced back saying his inbox was full.

Must be backed up with requests to write the Rommy novel.

After ADF's troubles with Disney, I'm not sure he would want to work on the property again. Last I heard his wife was ill as well, so may be a bit busy for e-mails.

Someone needs to explain to Disney that Alan Dean Foster is Alien Royalty.  He's been a part of the franchise since 1979 with 4 novel adaptations (+the Covenant prequel).

Honestly if the adaptation doesn't happen now it will never happen, just like Prometheus.  It'll be a loss for all fans, and another gap in the book collection.  They friggen' made a Vasquez back-story book to monetize the brand for Pete's sake, so I don't see why they wouldn't try to do a Romulus novel.  What the heck is going on over at Titan?

Also, they really should make a Prometheus novel.  They could literally work backwards and provide some character back-stories just like Orson Scott Card did on the Abyss novelization.  It would be a really worthwhile addition to the library.

The Japanese novel provided some back story to David from memory (though likely undone by Covenant).

That would no doubt be a fun read.  Does a translation exist in PDF?

I have a rough translation of the first few chapters. I've searched online for an English or Japanese version a number of times but come up with nothing.  Don't even think I could find it to buy.  Clara Carija commissioned (possibly?) someone to re-write the straight translation into a more readable English.  Not sure how far it got.  I have a vague recollection of offering to do it, but she already had it in hand. Or I was going to offer before finding out it was already happening.  Can't remember exactly.

The currently announced so-called "making of" books about Alien Romulus are apparently all just cheap rip-offs.
According to Amazon customer reports, this is just compiled information that can be found on the Internet.

This sounds very disappointing but perhaps they're trying to whip up the fans into a frenzy?  Maybe there will be something after the film?  Odd marketing in this area.

Nightmare Asylum

Just feels like the current trend, unfortunately. Prey didn't get an art book either, nor did Furiosa this year (despite Fury Road having a great one). Seems like a lot of this stuff is being phased out slowly, not unlike bonus materials on physical media releases. :-\

I could forgive Prey since it wasn't a theatrical release but considering this is I find it a little annoying especially since Titan just released a novelization for the new Godzilla/Kong movie back in April.

Very unfortunate

I figured Titan would be all over this.  Must be a Disney decision but that makes no sense either.
