Suspringly excellent. The humour is by far the highlight - you can feel Reiser's wit all over this.

Easily the best marvel comic so far imo.

I gotta say tho - why do they insist on these butt-ugly covers with that huge eye sore of a logo? No shot I'd spend money on a collected edition of this.

Read through all 5 issues in one go (I no longer enjoy reading it 1 issue at a time month to month anymore lol) and overall I thought it was a decent story but the dialogue was quite funny (genuinely laughed out loud multiple times).

Spoiler
I thought it was cool that the movie timeline pretty much stayed intact with Burke causing the EEV's to jettison to Fiorina. And I would've liked if we followed the Replican(t)'s journey a bit more as that double page panel of his space flight path really piqued my interest. I liked how Burke got a taste of his own medicine when Hiro betrayed him and actually thought the story did a decent job of showing some actual character growth. I also liked him wanting the Xeno genetic code to help with lifesaving medicine for his chronically ill wife. My nitpicks include the queen chestburster being just a mini queen and also once the Aliens attack, half of them seem to just disappear from the story altogether. The ending was left open enough to get a sequel but I'm not sure if we really need one.

Overall the dialogue was the star of the show and I could hear Paul Reiser when reading his character. A bit on the sillier side of things so if you take things too seriously then I wouldn't recommend but if you have a sense of humor then I'd say give it a read.

Last issue was silly but also fun enough to go some way to redeeming the nonsense of the previous four issues. Still a disappointment overall for what should have been an easy slam dunk.

I've always been somewhat disappointed that SM doesn't use the term "berk" here.  It would seem to be the perfect thread for it.

It's a pommy thing. We don't use it. Not even sure if poms use it much anymore.

As a Pom, I can safely say I've not used the word berk in a while.
I generally find c**t works just as well, sometimes prefaced by other words, such as "useless, utter, complete and f**king." But c**t does the job on its own.
Very direct and to the point.

In social settings, family gatherings, playful banter or if there are kids around, tw*t is a great substitute.

In military environments, the term "f**king lizard" is commonly used to inform someone or others of berk like attitudes and characteristics, most likely to be heard in airborne units.

I must say, I enjoyed this comic's more comedic tone. At first when I saw that they were making what if story with Burke, I thought it will be by the numbers, boring story made only for the sake of having known character an coming of Aliens' popularity. But creators had an interesting concept, making it basicly a comedy. I know that more humorous approach usually don't sit well with most Alien fans, but I liked it. Making Burke twisted Michael Scott worked well, I think that most dialogues were pretty funny and sharp, Burke's relationship with his daughter and other people around him was fun to read, and giving him motives that reader can empathize with, made him a character that You can root for, despite him being a dork and doing questionable things. And fact that most thing regarding Xenos are a bit nonsensical didn't bother me much, since i was story with lighter tone that wasn't meant to be taken all that seriously.

The humour was the best bit.  Everything else... ugh...

Haven't heard the word Berk since the late 80s, or early 90s and I only knew of it via old 8bit computer mags like Zzap64, Commodore User and C+VG which I used to devour.

Ah, memories.  Still have a copy of two of C+VG around somewhere.

I remember Berk from this. Which I found out a long time later was a TV show.

Didn't he have some little blob looking spidery mate who communicated with fart noises?  Drut or something?
