Come on are people still moaning about the asteroid part?

Dead Space is awesome, a short sequence like that does nothing bad to it, its another challenge to overcome. Just go ahead for another replay.

A "challenge" to overcome...

It's a challenge that results in no gains.

The asteroid shooting never bothered me, but it really servers no purpose other than to introduce the player to the cannons that will be used against the Slug boss.
I never thought the slug made much sense because the biomass it'd need to get that big...idk. It never bothered me but it always didn't make to much sense.

Kind of related, I miss Dead Space 2's multiplayer.

I found the asteroid part less annoying than any drag tentacle sequence.

They're only difficult if your using the line gun.

Unleash that plasma.

No, it's awful- especially on PC.

Finally played Dead Space 2. To summarise what I just said in the "Currently Playing" thread:

Not as good as the first, but not bad. Definitely lacking in the fear and atmosphere department compared to the original, the initial outbreak sections notwithstanding. Noticeably more difficult I thought, which made it all the more bizarre that the final boss fight was so terribly easy.

Lol, I replayed the first ahead of playing the sequel, and that part had me wondering how in the hell I ever got the trophy for beating it with more than 50% shields remaining back in the day.

Did it ever make you rage-quit the game for a few hours?

No, ironically I have no memory of struggling with it back in the day.

To be fair, it only took a couple of attempts this time around, but I only barely scraped through it the second time. Can't imagine how I ever did it with more than half my health left over.

Obvious suppression of traumatic memories.
