I always thought the Space Jockey was more like a gator horse to be honest..

Happened to see some nature documentary showing a baby elephant.
From certain angles, there was a lot of resemblance. If you can imagine it with a shorter trunk and without the ears.
At a younger age, they also seem to have darker eyes.
