Just watched this footage. Ya I reckon it will be fun with friends but I'm not thrilled or excited from what I've seen. I maybe wrong but I will wait till I see more levels and footage and the different xeno types and RPG elements. I get the impression that this game would get rather dull rather quick if all you do is shoot wave's of xenomorphs why waiting for the lift to arrived or a door to open. We only seen a small snippet of one of the levels but the design of that level looks a little sterile. Make it darker add more neon lighting FX and smoke ect. I think the big open rooms sort of spoils the atmosphere or it could be the 3rd person view? I can't quite put my finger on it but something seems generic about that level.  It would of been more interesting, if the beefed up the graphics made the rooms smaller have less Aliens attacking and give your marine a shortage of firepower were your bullets are essential for survival. In this video I'm getting vibe, that the enemies are just bullet sponges and u are never short on ammo because they are ammo cashes nearby. I want to feel the sense of danger, I don't want to feel like im mowing down millions of xeno's like its nothing.

Loot shooters are essentially you moving around with buddies, and fighting a huge ass mob of enemies, getting loot, and rinse and repeating.

Some are pretty bland, but some weave a fair amount of story in to keep things interesting.  I always preferred Division over Destiny for that reason.  Division missions felt like they mattered within their own game world.  Destiny just felt like you were f**king around (even though I haven't played D2).

I've played both Destiny 1+2 and The Division 1 but not 2. I prefer Destiny over The Division mainly because of the mechanics and the worlds. But I find both games get rather repetitive after hours of grinding and are boring playing on your own. The thing with these type of games, you have to rely on a good team of friends to get the best out of them. I will probably pick this Aliens Fireteam up at some point, but I will also wait to see the reviews first. Destiny 1 and 2 I put 1000's of hours in. Still like to play it from time to time, but most of the people I use to play with are either playing other games or give up playing it. They also keep Buffing or Nurfing the weapons and making everything a grind to get the rewards. Sometimes for the better sometimes for the worse. The division I liked but the first big patched corrupted my saves files making me lose hours of play so I stopped playing it. It's the same with games like Anthem. My friends were all gunna buy Anthem on day one saying it will be the Next Destiny but better and I decided to not buy it and I'm glad because that game has now been discontinued and failed miserably. Hopefully this new Aliens game (for my taste) will be more of a Left4Dead type of game, that doesn't try and be the next multiplayer IP like Destiny/Division cos I can't really be arsed with grinding for hours for better rewards. Just let me play it with friends like the Left4Dead days were you could have a blast for a few hours without worrying about missing a Raid or completing bounties for credit and experience points to buy shit that will probably be useless in the next Season or DLC Drop.

I'm odd in that I did SOLO both the Division and Division 2 SP campaigns, and tried to with much of Destiny but would have to bring randos in for the bosses.

I think playing with a bunch of people breaks the immersion on first time playthroughs.  Division II especially had a ton of story that is easy to miss if dudes are always talking.

So I'll probably solo fireteam first then play through it with people after.

Destiny you defo need a team of at least 3 for the Nightfalls and 6 for the Raids to get the most fun from that game. Playing Destiny Solo, your not gunna get far and miss out on the better exotics. The fun in Destiny is getting into a good raid team with full microphone communication to do the Raids. Vault of Glass was one of the best gaming experience I ever had playing multiplayer in D1. But if your one of them types who don't like to play multiplayer with others? then games like Destiny are gunna get boring real fast. Looking at Aliens Fireteam, it looks like the game is ment to be played as a team of 3. I reckon if you try and solo Aliens Fireteam you will probably get outnumbered and overcomed by swarms of aliens pretty quick making the game very frustrating. They say you can use AI bot team mates. This all sounds good but usually AI bot team mates are useless, underpowered or get in your way. But I will hold my judgement till I see the reviews for people who like to solo.

I was a huge fan of the division 1 and 2.
I find those games MUCH better when you are playing with friends, main reason I am kind of excited about fireteam.

My friends who are interested in playing this game with me are not huge alien fans, both of them first exposure to the franchise was isolation(werid I know they grown ass men).

My hope's for this game is that it starts to bring more interest to the IP with this and a tv we might be looking at a high point,if handled correctly.

Played destiny 1 as a single player myself last year and finished all material that there was and found it to be a mediocer fps game and way too easy and pretty repetive, some good highlights but a mediocer story, no urge to go back to it. Maybe its better when playing with others but I prefer single player games as most people one play with online are just dumb or silly etc.

Ya the story was pants cos the put all the lore in them stupid cards that you had to log on to the official destiny site to read them. (But that's been scrapped now) I myself, am not much of a multiplayer type of person. I prefer playing single player over multiplayer. But with D1 it was a new experience back then. Ya the were PC games like World of Warcraft ect, but I was never a pc player and the same was with my mates we just happened to be on console and we all bought Destiny and made some online friends when playing it. it was all about the VOG, Crota and having certain exotic weapons were if you had the Icebreaker or the Galhhorn you were highly needed in the early days of D1 for the Raids ect. Destiny f**ked up after The Prison of the Elders Dlc. they forced everyone in to smaller teams and nurf some of the better weapons. By then most people were fed up with the grind and people playing on their own were not getting the full experience. As for playing online with friends? ya it helps if you have friends in the real world who will help you level up and complete certain task like raids ect. That's one of the reasons I don't play Destiny much these days, because most of my friends in the real world are either bored with them type of games or playing something else.  But if you had a solid group of friends then your experiences with games like Destiny and The Division would be 10x better. At least with Aliens Fireteam if the game is fun the will be plenty of people on this forum who will want to hook up for a online sesh playing it. And if this game is mostly ment to be played online then I would recommend you get real people to play with and not rely on AI bots. I just hope the servers stay up and don't crash millions of times trying to play online.

I do not think this game will be fun with bot at all.

Like most people saying grab a team and get into it!

I will be buying this game day one so hit me up for a teammate if needed.

A lot of that is contingent on the strength of the AI, but still I'll mostly agree, yet still appreciate we're given the option. :)

I play just about all of those always online games solo.  On the original Division I had to rando a guy in for the final boss with the dude in the helicopter.  I beat Division II solo.

Same with Wildlands and Breakpoint.  Even though I did use the bots in both of those games.  I'd just use the syncrhonized bot shot to kill like seven dudes at a time.  Was pretty easy.

Again, I know the appeal, but I hate immersion breaking.  It is like talking during a movie, it just gets on my nerves.

MP to me has always been for the more arcadey type of multiplay games.  Like COD or Battlefield.  Or for the special game modes like Survival or Raids in the Division series.

Division II was definitely tailored more to solo than the original was though.   I would say the opposite about the Ghost Recon games.  First one you could solo pretty easy, but the second seemed to try and force the issue by not including the bots originally.  Thankfully they were added on later.

I'm hoping the bots are at least competent enough to gun down some aliens, but usually on always online games, the enemies spawned are directly related to how many human players are in your party.   If they take the lessons that everybody else uses, then a person should be able to handle the amount of enemies spawned by their lonesome.
