I'm happy to release this new version of the Derelict level from AvP, refined and optimized for multiplayer. It is a conversion of the large first mission for the marine campaign and second bonus mission for the alien, reduced in scope but now featuring an entirely new area previously sealed off from the player, connecting the two ends of the map. New platforms, lifts, and a catwalk have been added, retaining the old level geometry now repurposed for facilitating fast transit between large parts of the level, supporting the intense multiplayer action. This map features tight, confined corridors, massive open spaces, well-balanced medium-sized rooms, as well as risky lifts, which altogether give a unique feel and requires strategies rarely seen in any of the stock multiplayer maps.

Since it is a large map, it is ideally intended for six to eight players, although it can work with four or more. It was designed around deathmatch and species deathmatch modes, but might provide interesting results with Alien Tag, Predator Tag, and Last Man Standing game modes. Play with pre-destroyed lights for an extra scary time!

Designed around a strategy of risk and trade-off, the most powerful weapons and items are intentionally placed in compromising positions. There are three predator field charge orbs and all three will put the predator at a temporary disadvantage when going for them. The same is true for the two minigun pickups. There is at least one of every weapon in the game. There are plenty of supplies and spawn points all over the map. There are a few known but very minor bugs (which might even be unnoticed to the average player) listed with the readme file in the .zip file, which as far as I can see, can't be helped. If you notice any glitches with the map or if you have any suggestions or questions, feel free to ask here.

To Install:
Find your Aliens versus Predator Classic 2000 folder. For Steam users it is by default located at:
YourDrive:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Aliens versus Predator Classic 2000.
Open the avp_rifs folder in there.
Extract the custom folder in the zip file into the avp_rifs folder. The custom folder should be nested inside the avp_rifs folder. If you already have the custom folder, then just merge the folder.
