This is a thread to share and talk about game ideas for the Alien, Predator and AVP licenses.
I'll start the ball rolling by sharing my idea for a team-based Asymmetric Multiplayer first person shooter Aliens vs. Predator game inspired by Overwatch. Now we have had various iterations of this with the online aspect of games such as Aliens versus Predator 2, AVP 2010 and A:CM but I'm talking about a game that focuses on balanced strategic online gameplay.
Matches would start by assigning you to one of three teams of 5. Each team is a set faction (Alien, Predator, or Human) and has a roster of 10 characters each with a unique style of play whose roles differ depending on faction and the character chosen within the team. The roster for Aliens would include Drone (fast, stealthy, best wall-crawling and ability to pounce), Warrior (similar to Drone but slower, tougher and deals more damage), Runner (faster but weaker than Drone, ability to acid-spit), Praetorian (slower, tougher and deals more damage than Warrior), Predalien (stats between Warrior and Praetorian) and other unique castes such as Carrier, Ravager, Crusher and Boiler with their respective unique abilities. The Predator roster would contain unique Hunters that specialize in different weapons but also use a combination of different gadgets. A Jungle Hunter that focuses on camouflaged kills with the plasma caster and wrist blades. A City Hunter with netgun, smart-disc and spear. A heavy Predator with more health but slower movements. The list could really go on for different Predator classes with all their technologies and weaponry available. Of course Humans would have someone who focuses on the Pulse Rifle, A smart-gunner, An android (that doesn't show up in Alien and Predator visions) and support roles with abilities such as hacking consoles to cause environmental changes, door welders and sentry turret placements. This universe has so much potential to make some really cool classes and make for some really fun asymmetrical gameplay. Like Overwatch players on a team work together to secure and defend control points on a map or escort a payload across the map in a limited amount of time.
Players gain cosmetic rewards that do not affect gameplay, such as Predator masks & weapons skins unique to their respective class, skins that reference previous movies and games such as Grid Alien and armor & weapons for Humans characters, as they play the game.
