It was really just all this confusion over a wasp for me :D, it makes sense that the pathogen would infect fungi and lie in wait for new hosts as it is not a plant, I think it's probably the case. Yes I'd like to see that.

Amen for that! I want to know if the pathogen is the same substance as the one the sacrificial Engineer drank, and why there are so many different reaction. I can pay attention to the movies, but I need clearer answers.  ;D

There's no reason to think it's not. Minute-to-minute individual player actions might not be, but structured storyline/"world-building" elements certainly can be. That's how Lucasfilm treated the Star Wars RPGs when it came to "canon".

I stand by my theory that there's both a life and death version of the pathogen. One creates, the other destroys.
