Instead it's been an endless argument since 2015 about a dead Alien project
that discussion keeps being disingenuously rejuvenated by various photos and statements.

"Totally dead." If so-
Just release the damn script/treatment to put it to bed.
Stop unfairly tantalizing/angering people.

They'll never release it. It's going to be Neil and his powerloaders vs. Scott and his androids for years to come.

The war of preferred directions rages on. And whatever we do get, nobody is likely to be satisfied.

But there's one thing I'll give to Scott. At least he tried to do something different and more horror-related. All Neil wants is Aliens 2.

I thought A:CM was considered "Aliens 2."

Until Ridley Scott kicks the bucket, or Sigourney Weaver does.

I think it's disingenuous to say that all Neill wanted was Powerloaders,
but I will say that I believe he doesn't understand the series
and that from the ideas he presented- what he did want was trite.

I think neither Scott or Blomkamp hit the nail on the head, Scott in writers he's hired or
the Alien being of the cosmic unknown inherently.
But he gets that it's an unrelenting rape monster in a world that's utterly f**ked where the company
can and will exploit you.
You can't always get a happy ending, that requires the same as in IRL- luck and perseverance.

& I think he was far closer to the mark than N.B's track record indicates (In writing, directing, concept)
N.B would've been.

My mention of powerloaders and androids was merely a reference to the most common complaints I've heard regarding the movies. Sometimes it seems like if you're a fan of Neil's idea, then you just want more Marines and Powerloaders. If you're a fan of Scott's direction, you just want more Androids/Blade Runner stuff and philosophy.

Neither of those is my personal opinion, nor do I necessarily agree with them. But of course, this is starting to head off topic, and I apologize for my contribution to that.

I was primarily referring to the film aspect of the franchise.

Eh- they're relatable: both topics are unwinnable arguments.

Though I will say;
I won't even vote on the poll on the official topic-
because they're both such great people and actors.

TheSailingRabbit

That's fine. I made this for fun. Not demanding votes or claiming one's better than the other.

The  only  way  to  know  is  to  make  the  plastic  Hudson  and  Bishop  fight.

I'm gonna have to talk to a friend on Twitter for that. He's got both.

This might take awhile.

John Hurt holds the record for characters dying onscreen.  At 43 deaths, it's the official record outstripping Vincent Price, Bela Lugosi and Sean Bean.

...and he's been killed by an Alien, twice.

Beat that Paxton!  Beat that Henriksen.  :P

-Windebieste.
Holy hell he even died as a rabbit in Watership Down. That is one of the most depressing kiddy movies ever made... no wonder he was hired to play Kane. :P

Due to my technological ineptness, we're not seeing any photos of plastic Hudson and Bishop. Sorry.
