I'm really tired of the exhausted "but Predator had jokes tooooooo" argument. The one liners in that movie mostly occured during the first act when it was still a red meat, rocknroll action porn in the tradition of Comando. Once the Predator started hunting the team and it slowly dawned on Dutch's men what they were dealing with the movie became much more earnest, the cheesy jokes and one liners started to dry up. By the time the Predator shows up things are pretty grim.

This movie looks as irritatingly smarmy as self aware as any trashy MCU or NuWars movie and I doubt the movie will let thirty seconds go by without one of its characters making a Buffy quip to keep its audience from getting to invested in what's going on.

"You are one ugly motherf**ker..."

They're peppered throughout. It's a valid counter-argument. Predator was plenty fun and plenty funny. You haven't seen The Predator. You don't know it isn't going to come off the same. Shane and other people have spoken about how aware they are of getting the right balance. They're conscious of it.

We've got tons of TV spots, but is there a reason why a second full-length trailer (aka the one to be avoided at all cost) has not been released?

The timing of the humour is very important, and Shane seems to be a master at injecting humor at meaningful times

Looks like fugitive isn't strapped down when he breaks free. Did he fake his death somehow in order to trick the guards?
