Can we have Michael Madsen in there for some form of tough guy comic relief?

Since The Hateful Eight I've lived the idea of him in a Preddy flick.

It would be tough not to ignore his role from species. It would feel like a crossover.

Although I would love to hear 5 minutes of him yelling at somebody to nail the door shut with a predator on their tail.

Oh, haven't seen it so I may not have that problem! :P

But yes, the door!  :D

That would make for an interesting crossover to say the least!

I have yet to see this movie, but love me some tough guy comedy. Will put it next on my list  8)  Species is one of those iconic sci-fi/horror movies of the 90's...it may be worth a watch. Definitely gave me nightmares as a kid lol

Were this being done as a straight-up deadly serious movie, with a lot of drama and intense horror/action,

I doubt we'll ever see a predator film that serious though.

It's crazy to me that the Franchise has evolved away from this and the fanbase seems okay with that.

Should this be what Pred movies are????!?!!!!!!!!???

What do you mean?

Away from what exactly?

Away from the same formula. Soldiers in a jungle, Predator hunting and killing them save for one, predator getting killed by that survivor lol.

As for Benicio pity we didn't get him in this Predator since he was busy with Sicario 2 I guess. Superb movie by the way.

I don't think I'd mind having a go in this direction, it'd give the writers an opportunity to experiment with new elements without having to resort to a hell load of extra creatures or an enormous cast. Even though I'd like to see a more serious movie at some point, it's possible that an aura that intense wouldn't mesh well with the series, given how bright the original was. I think AVP-R was a good example of this.

Simply put:

One villain pred killing for pleasure and hunting for sport.

Make it dark, make it mysterious, build tension, make it violent.  Give it a worthy advisary.  Del Torro would've been awesome hunting down a Pred.

The obvious line of Madsen's to reference here with regards to the Predator is:

Predator uncloaks, draws his wrist blades. Time seems to slow down.

Michael Madsen tenses, waving his hands in the air.

Madsen
I ainnnnnnn'ttt gottt nnnnooo gunnnnn....!

A similar thought truly crossed my mind when that scene played. Lol
