Yes, as well as that Bob Ross video that showed snippets of footage at the end. Deadpool is a marketing anomaly though because part of what makes that franchise is how much they market it and the type of marketing campaign they do for those movies. So it's a much different animal and probably isn't the best comparison for what they may do with The Predator. I think Alien: Covenant is the example to look at.

Also keep in mind it costs money to cut trailers. Depending on the film's AD spend they might only make 2-3 trailers total and leave it at that.

I'll be honest, I went to see deadpool 2 yesterday and they played the predator trailer. It felt like a lighthearted popcorn movie. All of the trailers they played were terrible except for Mission Impossible which I felt they edited very well. The mission impossible trailer focused on the aspects of what we all know to be the heart of the movie, which is incredible action scenes. The predator trailer was childish and too light hearted for what a predator movie should be. I've read the early script and seen the trailer when it dropped, and seeing it on the big screen gave me a lackluster feeling. I'll still go see the film in theaters for support of the franchise but I have little faith in what this film will provide to the franchise.

Yeah there's not many "ah ha it's Predator" moments. It's sort of just plays like "what's this... Oh it's another Predator film"

The structure of the trailer is quite bad. Actually it might just straight up be the worst trailer between the films of recent time. Not because the movie looks bad, just that nothing really happens.

I like the comment that says "The moment you realise it's not a fanmade trailer". Totally spot on.

It's just a terrible, awful trailer.

It's not even like it would be difficult to make a Predator teaser for the plot synopsis of this.

I give teaser a D+.

Hell! The kids trick-or-treating is a 30 year old sound effect
that I recognize from Roller Coaster Tycoon!!!

I must say Im extremely disappointed in the trailer. It looked like a generic mindless modern action flick for me. I cant judge movies by the trailers and Ive learned a long time ago not to do it but this doesnt look promising

Here's what I would have done for the teaser.

Shots of the jungle. Maybe throw in a little of "The Chopper."
Holbrook on his mission. Intense. Scope shots.
Cut to kid at home, with box.
Holbrook searching through scope. Looking for his target. Sonic boom.
Kid slicing box with box cutter.
Ship crashing, Holbrook trying to evade.
Kid peels back flaps.
Holbrook moving through the wreck. Predator clicking sound.
Kid pulls out the mask.

THE PREDATOR.

And dependent on effects shots that usually end up being finished last.

I wouldn't have put any ship crashing. It's too AVPR.

Yes.
Why not just a simple landing? Predator comes, lands, exits from his ship and starts hunting.

I think we're more discussing what could be edited in the trailer to make it more appealing, while not changing the film.
Otherwise we'd just be making up anything and everything.

And yes, the “polished” look is concerning.
Might have worked well for Nice Guys or something where the story takes place in a Vegas casino, but Predator...?

That’s why I loved the Sabacc scene in Solo, a single bug zapper style lightbulb over the table.  Atmosphere was fantastic

This is something JJ Abrams hasn’t figured out either:
LESS IS MORE
