Honestly though, ACM is way funner to play with friends. The Bughunt DLC and some of the campaign missions were great. Yeah its not as glamourous and authentically scary as Alien Isolation but as a co-op game and as being a big fan, Aliens Colonial Marines ain't all that bad.
Sure, it can be fun, but it's still a failure as an Aliens game because they really screwed up the biggest part - the
Aliens. Even going back playing AvP 2010, the difference is night and day.
The Alien AI in AvP is light-years ahead of anything in Colonial Marines, even the lurkers. Every single Alien in AvP has excellent pathfinding and will almost always try and attack you from an indirect angle. The survivor mode is insane because after awhile, you just start getting hit and you can hardly even see what's hitting you as the Aliens do fly-by swipes and come at you from the walls and roof.
They also react to fire, and jump away into cover if they get it.
It's really quite amazing the AI that Rebellion pulled off, and makes Colonial Marines look even more the sorry shit it is.
If you took the Aliens from AvP and stuck them into the A:CM Bug Hunt mode, you'd almost have the perfect Aliens game.
