Alien Navigation Mode not working

I just reinstalled this game on my computer, and I've been experiencing several graphics issues, but most infuriating is that the Alien Nav Mode, and the Predator Tech Vision dont work. All I get is a black screen, but the Objective Updated marker does still appear. Anyone have any thoughts?

I've had this problem too. I think it is either a graphics card issue, or just a problem with windows 8.

I had to make a small little mod that lets me see 100% clear via those two modes. I basically took off the invert setting in those vision modes. Problem is, I can't join mp servers while running it. But it's good for singleplayer usage.

Both modes are just simple inversions using directdraw; DD isn't supported by windows 8.1, thus they will not work.
