Yeah, but I'm over 40 and disabled.  That limits my options.

Technical support for a chain of data centers.  I already work at home, so this was basically my ideal job.

I have come to grips that happened both months ago and recently.

Months ago, while in my room, I faded in and out and then started to have uncontrollable muscle spasms all over my body for at least four minutes. Since then, I have had difficulty concentrating, fatigue, flashes of bright lights (sparingly), and sudden sharp pains lasting two seconds or so in my arms and legs. Worst of all, I had noticed my speech is somewhat scattered. I fear I may have brain damage. After looking up my symptoms, I may have experienced a clonic seizure. Of which, is a sign of epilepsy (which I do have a family history of. I am going to

You okay brother? You seem to have cutoff there.

So sorry to hear you're in poor health. Nothing's worse than being ill. Don't look up stuff on your own, you'll just scare yourself half to death. Go to a good/competent physician to get yourself checked out and be completely honest with them when you do.

If you believe that you have had, or are now prone to having seizures, make sure to have someone else drive you to the doctor, don't drive yourself. Reach out to your support system, and keep them close. Make sure to inform your family that you may be experiencing health difficulties, and then inform your employer in the event you need to take a leave of absence.

I know it can be very stressful coming to terms with potential health issues, and talking to family members and especially employers about it can be awful. But no matter what, the most important thing that you can do in this situation is to take good care of yourself. You do what you gotta do to get better, and if anyone else (boss included) has a problem with it or tries to create obstacles for you, tell them to go eat crow. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

I have come to grips that happened both months ago and recently.

Months ago, while in my room, I faded in and out and then started to have uncontrollable muscle spasms all over my body for at least four minutes (this is not the first time ever either). It literally felt like I grabbed onto a high voltage line being shocked. Since then, I have increased difficulty concentrating, fatigue, flashes of bright lights (sparingly), and sudden sharp pains lasting two seconds or so in my arms and legs a few times a day. Worst of all, I have noticed my speech is somewhat scattered, as I am searching for words and will stop mid sentence, sometimes saying another word while thinking another. I fear I may have brain damage after that event. After looking up my symptoms, I may have experienced a clonic seizure. Of which, is a sign of epilepsy (which I do have a family history of).I am going to my PCP this week and will break the news to her.

As for recently ... NSFW
Spoiler
I had found blood clots in my fecal matter. I have always had streaks of blood, but not clots. My father passed away to colon cancer (guess what, more family history of problems). The stools have not been black/tarry or bright red, so that is a plus, but still not good. I imagine I will have to have a colonoscopy in the near future to be absolutely certain.

I am only 33 years old, but my health has almost always been good with no chronic diseases. I hope for the best, but I am truly scared about the seizure (if that is what it was) more than anything else. Updates to follow as they occur.
Revised, as the site kicked me off last night.

Thank you for your concerns Huggs and Whiskey

Thank you for your concerns. I hope its all nothing, but like I said, I fear for the possible seizure more than anything else.

Got back from my PCP, the news is
Spoiler
Good but not good. I have to go to three specialists; gastroenterologist for a colonoscopy due to extreme family history and current symptoms, dermatologist for an I&D, and... a neurologist for a brain scan and other neurological tests.

Glad to hear it wasn't bad news right from the get-go. Hang tough man, the day will come when you will actually be on the other side of all this. And hey, if nothing else, you're in for a crap-load of lollipops.  :)
